I personally do, any who start watching anime are bound to find at least one they love and there is always someone else who loves that same one.

No. Not everyone is going to like anime regardless of all the different types of shows there are. Some will hate it no matter what and some will find they like at least a little bit of it but that still doesn't mean they will become a huge fan and start watching more.

Anime is an interest/art/medium... it's like everything else, more or less. Granted, anime can be more serious sometimes than Western animation (and sometimes less so, I suppose). Western animation tends to be just comedy while anime covers about every genre I think. I don't expect anime will replace sports any time soon.... then, sports won't replace anime so much either... then there are sports anime....

Most of my socialization comes from the Internet. Maybe without a nerdy interest like anime I'd socialize more in the so-called real world. Or maybe I'd just read more books (which would probably be good) or watch shows I don't care about quite as much....

No. Anime is not a magic unifier anymore than any other broad group of art or entertainment media.
