Depending on the type of pain, inflammation and pain related to that, NSAIDs, usually Advil. If it's something that I can't link to some sort of inflammation, then Tylenol (headaches without any muscle pain usually). Unless I've had alcohol and its a hangover type of headache, then ideally, none of them, but never Tylenol, usually would take Advil.

Does Paracetamol count? I use it if I have a really bad headache and after I've had an injection.

I don't normally use pain killers. I just simply wait for the pain to pass by.

(ALL MY OPINION, NOT YOURS. DON'T TAKE TO HEART) Don't use them unless you're in severe pain, and on them for no more than a week. even if you don't get addicted or anything it's unnatural and not safe to relieve so much pain on top of making you feel good. i mean no one can tell anyone what to do or anything but at least take in to consideration I've OD'd 9 official times (actually called for help basically). I don't know if you know this but its also getting you to take almost half the amount of an overdose off of tylenol on a daily(4 Vicoden 5/500 so you're taking 2000mg and thats just recommended. You overdose off the acutemetaphin anywhere between 4000mg-7500mg.) I got lucky getting down to 3 breaths a minute for over 20 minutes, waking up indian style on the side of the freeway with my shoes, wallet and phone stolen (most people lose circulation to their legs and have to get them surgically removed after ODing sitting cross legged. Indian style... is that racist? Why do I even have to be worried about accidental prejudice. Nah can't be they have yoga positions that go way further with the name) Been woken up by friends and family at the dinner table or collapsed at a party. The shit is just too much fun to some people, others take it differently. But for us unlucky ones who made it alive and who have perished, try not to develop a problem, and if you do I hope you see what you need to do to get out, because you're not getting out unless you believe in yourself fully.

Basically take em like right after surgery when you truly need them but try to stop asap. . and the answer to quitting is in your head (99.9%) of the time. The others is some other disease or something.

And if you're only going with under the counter, Like first comment said NSAIDs work on reducing the molecules that cause pain while acetemetaphin blocks pain neurons at the receptor i believe. So like they said use NSAIDS (Tylenol, Ibuprofen,Advil,etc...) but keep in mind these are the ones that cause the most damage to the liver. Good thing is the liver can heal itself as long at least 30% of it is still functioning! That's why I'll take Excedrin (i get offbrand Equate or something.) I think that and Asprin are the only ones with both acutemetaphin and they make both brands without caffeine if that's what's holding you back. As long as it's a quick fix that's the best way for sure!

Sorry for another rant, its because I keep leaving the computer mid message and then I got a new mind set goin :p lmao and please right any wrongs I've said. This is all off the top of my head

Never taken painkillers on my own.
Doctors have given them to me while in the hospital. Once I was released, I wouldn't take them at all (no matter the pain).
