Looking for anime I have not seen that I would enjoy.

Preference: not something for teen boys, and not something overly feminized. Otherwise, I am pretty open. I favor epics, but I think I have seen the ones I love already :[

Also, it would be nice to list some of your faves here, so others could check them out!

So bring on the old school fan faves!

I've not been watching anime long enough to have any Old School favorites. From time to time I do get a chance to watch something older, but my main consumption is whatever is current. The anime that comes closest to being both "old school" and "favorite" for me personally is Revolutionary Girl Utena.

Bumping this because even though I don't have a recommendation, I think I waited so long to move it over to Advice that it started off farther down on the page than it should have. I can't believe nobody has anything to recommend!

It depends on what you mean by epic.

For the classic heroic epic I'd suggest Record of Lodoss War (OVA & TV series), which is followed by the Legend of Crystania.

In terms of classic series of epic length then Urusei Yatsura may be a good choice.

I mean epic, such as a journey. I love the escape of a journey. Like, I absolutely loved Guin Saga. 'Here and Now, Then and There' etc.

And I love dramas that tell a story. I loved 'I'm Mita,Your Housekeeper', 'Ghostwriter', and 'Divorce Chaser', because they told a complete story.

I love the art of story-telling, and it seems to be hard to find.

I'll check out your recommendations when I wake up in the AM.

I haven't been watching anime long enough to have any "old school" recommendations so I will instead recommend the show I rate 10/10 that is the least popular using MyAnimeList to gauge that objectively (it's ranked #601 in popularity as of now):

Ping Pong: The Animation

as for my personal favorite anime (although it's a bit more popular at #111 on MyAnimeList so it's more likely that you have already seen it) I will also recommend:
