I play the guitar, but thats because few people want to play the bass it seems. xD
personally, I'm considering learning how to play bass guitar cause it just has a nicer sound overall. Part of me wishes that I learned how to play it instead of the guitar to begin with.
Then again I've been playing guitar for years now and if i gave it up it would be like abandoning my newborn child in the hospital.

Eh, I play bass because it sounds nice, the strings are thicker, and it doesn't have extremely high notes. It's a nice change from a tiny highpitched woodwind instrument.

Also, if you listen for it, there are a lot of good bass solos out there.

idk, i play guitar and like most of it, but i like the basses better.
