PRICES GO UP AT THE GATE
Since im sure there are still a number of tabletop gamers here, I'll post this. Currently trending on Kickstarter (though sadly not as well as their previous Ks's went) Petersen Games the creators of Cthulhu wars are releasing another asymmetric strategy game with miniatures.
from their KS page.
"Designed by Sandy Petersen and based on the mythic cult universe of Glorantha, The Gods War is a fast moving strategy game set in a universe on the brink of disaster. In The Gods War, you take the part of powerful elemental factions, battling to determine the fate of the cosmos. The Gods War has been in development for more than three years. It is highly asymmetric featuring wildly different factions. You’ll fight over territory, perform miracles, and command monsters and gods. You can storm the gates of heaven itself, or watch the world collapse into the Chaos Rift."

there is even a print and play version (http://petersengames.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/The_Gods_War_PnP.zip) so you can try it out before you back the KS....The ks is mainly to add more content to that game (miniatures, extra factions, etc).

I'm not in anyway connected with peterson games, I have played their previous game a number of times since I've gotten it and its alot of fun, The rules are easy to follow (my neice whose 7 has been able to play with us without much difficulty), and the miniatures are great to look at and play with. The price was the only factor that limited it (dont want to go into detail but... I have probably spent more on cthulhu wars and its Onslaught 2 KS then I have on my ps4+all my games), but I dont regret it.
Gods war is said to be similiar in that its an asymmetric strategy game, but other then it looks and feels unique. Its based on Glorantha mythology (which I dont know alot about XD) Which is used alot in other games as asetting, mainly runequest, As the beginning of the creation of the world, for those who are familiar with the mythos im sure it'd be interesting to see and play as the gods the lore of those settings spoke of.
