I notice that there is a lot of people that just don't like Re:ZERO Starting Life in Another World and i don't exactly know why. I thought it might be the whole "it's to popular" but that's not really a good reason to hate any anime. Could someone tell me why there is so much hate towards re:zero?

Because people dislike things purely because of their popularity and not their content.

my best guess would be the majority of American's don't like to think too hard about the shows they watch. just look at shows made here, the popular stuff doesn't require any thought at all. then comes Re Zero and even compared to other anime it has too much depth for a lot of people. I recall an episode of futurama that describes it best, cant remember exact words, but referring to that episode about them remaking the single female lawyer show, Fry says something like "people don't want to see something new, they want to see the same thing they have seen a million times, because predicting what's going to happen makes them feel smart, and guessing wrong makes them feel stupid"

Sometimes a 12 yr old will state they hate it because they want attention. I mean, if you don't like a show, normally you just walk away, not invade threads talking about how you DON'T like it.

It happens so often, it has a name: its called trolls! Just ignore them and they will go away.

I feel happy and very vindicated that I like the show that's becoming popular to hate.

Does this make me a fanboy?

Renamed at OP request. Not using the word "hate" because you use the word "dislike" in your opening sentence implying you are asking people why they don't like it, not why someone hates it. Truthfully I doubt there are many people out there if any who legitimately hate this show, hate is kind of a strong feeling.

My question would be why does anyone like it? I've seen the first two episodes and there was nothing to entice me to watch the rest of the series.

I watched like 15 minutes of the first episode and turned it of I just found Subaru an annoying character and assumed the show was aimed at a young audience.

However after the real positive words of mouth on this forum I gave it another try and watched four episodes straight. And the addiction began, I binged all the way up to episode 22 and the funny thing is the annoying quality's of the MC actually became charming and my favourite part of the show. Oh and Rem!!!!!

I don't dislike the show, but I think it's poorly written. I do enjoy some aspects of the show, such as the art style. I like most characters besides the protagonist. Unfortunately, the show is focused almost entirely on the protagonist.

The show beats the main character into deep despair and insanity, and we have to put up a mentally broken character for quite a few episodes. That's not Subaru's fault, and I would certainly expect him to be broken after all he goes through. I blame the show for that. Then late in the show he recovers almost completely, he gathers an army, and he performs amazing feats (like being launched onto the top of a flying whale, jumping off, and being caught by a big metal chain with no injury). He becomes a hero to many, he has multiple girls interested in him, and he's pretty much the standard trapped-in-a-fantasy-world protagonist, just with the promise of some occasional messy deaths. He's suddenly using some good strategy, despite having been dumb as a brick for most of the series.

The time loops provide interesting challenges to get past, but they also drag the plot down, and we're still not quite sure if there's an overall plot. We still have no idea why Subaru was brought to that world.

I suspect that the second season might be a big improvement, assuming we get one.

The only thing i dislike is Subaru obsessing over what is largely a background character at this point, i really don't give a damn if Emilia does die. I'm going to be pissed at the end largely because we'll get a read the source material ending probably, well that and two other things. I'll be super mad if we don't get a season 2 at least.

Why doesn't everyone like what I like? I mean, because I like it- everyone should to! It doesn't make sense that people don't like what I like!!!
