Maybe because the majority hated Subaru during the first half of the series & thought this was another typical harem & comedy anime; so it might be boring to them. At first, I wanted to drop this too, but then until around ep 12 or 13 is where it took a turn; which I think why some people stayed & liked it. & Also, because of Rem. Really good character development especially Rem & Subaru.

I can see why some people don't like this show. Subaru isn't your typical MC, he's very flawed and some people want their MC's to be like Goku or Naruto etc.

Some people don't like the show because of Emilia, because of their undying devotion to the cult of Rem.

Some people can't get into the main premise that Subaru has "Save Points" and he technically gets do overs.

Various reasons really. I think the show is great because of Subaru, and not in spite of him, but that's just me.

well i haven't seen it so i can't really say but isn't it a feely-sad kind of show? that's what i gather from the synopsis and gifs i've seen. i personally don't watch shows high in drama and feels. i didn't like your lie in april for that reason. i prefer to shows to be light, fun, and happy

People might be starting to get sick of the fantasy world video game tropes or settings in generic fantasy universe. We have had quite a lot of them by now. Like SAO, Gate, Log Horizon, Akame ga Kill!, Attack on Titan, Chaika: The Coffin Princess, Maoyuu Maou Yuusha and Zero no Tsukaima but to name a few. Generic fantasy word is starting to become a bit stale perhaps? KonoSuba was a satire of such a world and Rokka no Yuusha tried something new to good effect. Both of them I liked.

While the time jumps were a neat idea I felt like it dragged the story down a lot. Watching the same series of events happen over and over made the plot advance rather slowly.

In addition, I wasn't a huge fan of the main character, he was different for sure but I just wasn't a fan personally. The show suffered from poor writing in places and overall the fantasy genre has been so overdone lately. Waking up in another world, slowly going from zero to hero, and having a harem of fantasy girls is nothing we haven't seen before. Sprinkling on re-spawn points is a nice gimmick but it doesn't solely drive a show from beginning to end.

I watched until they fought the whale, but put the anime down afterwards. Maybe I'll check it out when it continues again but otherwise there are plenty of other shows.

I've read comments about people who aren't into overly emotional shows at all, especially dull or romantic personality types. Re:Zero can be way too exaggerated when it comes to showing emotion, yet that's what some people like about it as well. Screaming Rem scenes may actually turn some people off,
