Plot Summary

Technology has advanced due to the discovery of an alternative source of fuel called "Thunder-Cores." This has changed civilization for the better due to the creation of longer lasting trains and cars, and a new form of transportation called Air-Ships!

The story follows Tatsu Frampt, a young boy who lives in an orphanage nowhere near the city, who dreams that one day he will be the captain of his own air-ship and travel around the world alongside his friends. He is told that he and his friends are being isolated from civilization due to a disease that makes iron grow in their bodies. However, the orphanage is attacked, and Tatsu is the sole survivor, and learns the dark truth of his "disease." Six years later, he embarks on a mission to save his friends, and kill those who stand in his way...

First two chapters have been promising so far. I especially like the lightning fast pace (I'm sure the mangaka intended it that way so people could make that pun) and the main character doing that pose I always see in japanese media with the sword on the ground right in front of him and his legs spread apart. On the other hand the art needs a lot of improvement of it's going to stand amongst the other shonen jump titles. I'm definitely going to keep an eye on it

This Manga seems decent so far. Not as appealing as Neverland, but not bad!

Haven't heard of that. Is it good? How far along is it?

The Promised Neverland is also a new jump start along with Red Sprite and Love Rush.

It had an amazing start and is doing good so far. It has 4 or 5 chapters so far!

I read the first 5 chapters. It's pretty great even though the artwork isn't really that impressive and the monster designs are just confusing. I'm definitely going to buy it when the first volume comes out.

After reading chapter 3 I can't understate at all how refreshing it is to finally get a shonen hero who actually plans ahead instead of just making it up as he goes along. The art is still underwhelming though. I don't know if I would call it bad quite yet, but there is a very noticeable absence of detail at several points and the panel layouts sometimes make the action dofficult to follow.

With chapter 3, Red Sprite dropped its fast pace and made it clear that the purpose of Tatsu's travel will be 1)freeing his orphanage friends, 2) Founding a nation, 3)Taking revenge on the empire (I don't know its name)

Yes, I definitely agree with this, though I don't think the art is bad, it's just good. Not great, but not terrible either.

It's also nice to have a main character who is already strong and doesn't have to go through 100 chapters of training.

It's hard to believe this is Yagi's second manga. I have no idea what Iron Knight was like, but this just feels so amateur to me? Not Sporting Salt level (much better colouring skills than Kubota), but like Tabata has about the same amount of experience as Yagi, but early Black Clover was a lot more polished than this?

But the people on Vizmanga seem to really like RS. I don't really get it.

This is what Iron Knight was like

Honestly it's even worse than Red Sprite. At least Red Sprite had backgrounds. There is so little detail and the actions are conveyed much worse than in RS. Just look at how in one panel our protagonist is punching a guy on the ground and in the next he appears to be in midair. It feels like there are panels just flat out missing and I was never able to tell where the enemies and the main character are in relation to one another. I still don't think Red Sprite is even close to the usual SJ stabdard, but it's a remarkable imrpovement on this.

EDIT: God I forgot to mention how much empty space there is between panels! I know other manga do that too, but that's a massive pet peeve of mine. It looks so weird. Just ugh.

Well. If Black Clover is accused of being a Naruto Rip-off, Red Sprite has the crew element of One Piece. In Chapter 4,

I could've sworn they said it was a Jump Start, but if you look at Jump now that logo is gone. It and the Wikipedia page both seem to indicate it's a full series now. Which is good because I've very impressed.

It was a jump start, but given the positive feedback and the recent ending of Nisekoi and Bleach, they decided to pick it up for the magazine without the usual delay period.

Its following a template for battle shounen same for Black Clover.
Its a simple set goal, easy to follow and understand.

the amount of blank space in panels annoys me though.
