I think some of us all we want is what we pay for w/o anymore ongoing problems but let's start with the Streaming

The CR player this week is completly horrible . It is stopping at least 4 / 5 times Taboo Tattoo was like 10 times and Orange at least 4 / 5 times .

And I cant get caught up . CR is suppose to entertain me not make me angry!

Oh how annoyed CR forum posters are with the standard try this / please dont insult us with such disrespect for not trying things first . We would not be sending off a ticket!

Now All my software is updated cache cleaned etc LSO's removed . What seened to help for awhile was erasing my entire queue history nut that seemed to stop being a cure!

This on both Oprea and Firefox Browsers . This really raised it's ugly head since the new summer 2016 saeson started and the Windows 10 Patch . I dont habe windows 10 .

Now I can watch vidoes on Funimation / SYFY / Discover Websites etc with zero problems!

I am somewhat getting PC glitches fixed but that advices / voodoo magic cure-alls are beyond me .And I really should not to have do DNS changes which I dont understand where my connection is good!

I really like CR most of the Community / and dont what to come off as nasty . But this this I hate to say is consumer fraud even unitentionally

CR urges to support legal streaming / but I an at the point to watch fan-sub

Next step may be the Comsumer fraud agencies !

And maybe cancel ! I am sick writing this way but the support is gone !

Now no offense to Eye pf Pain / Beardfist / The Anicent One / Shinryou for advice but it so much a mess, Evewrything worked for a couple of days worked fine but back to the same letdowns!

I understand completely, crunchyroll use to freeze up on me alot on the ps3, haven't used it on my ps4 yet. On my psvita(lol, I know. I am a Sony whore) the app started crashing and then showing an error message when it was time for the commercials to show and I rebooted the app and same thing happened over and over. Got a guest pass and with no commercials the app works fine now. Videos play better without the interruptions of the commercials in between I guess. Also sometimes the screenshots won't load on the "my queue" page. Hulu plus also seems to be slow at times loading up. Could just be my crappy time warner Internet service though.

As for not supporting legal streaming service, I would rather pay the small $6 a month for reliable access to new anime than hunt around for free sites when one or the other is down. But if I must use a certain service to see something unavailable on another one I will.

Yes, however I hope crunchyroll does fix the issues at hand with thier services because I love the community and do wish to support them bringing us anime titles here in the West in a legal fashion. Its like music, people started stealing it off the Web and now all we have is garbage like Justin Bieber on the radio. I don't want that to happen to anime although it is highly unlikely.

Playback for me has been a bit iffy for the past few days, but it's particularly bad tonight (within the last hour): I get ~5 minutes if I'm lucky before the stream dies and refuses to restart. Other streaming services are working fine on this device.

Playback has been nothing but flawless for me for a long time. Sucks to see you can't even catch up on your queue.

Well changing DNS will likely change where the data comes from. CDN (content delivery network) which CR uses are not congestion proof.

I've never seen this posted on here before so if you haven't try this.

If you want to see if the flash player is at fault and not the CDN.
For any web browser use your mouse too rewind the video no more then 4 seconds from where the video stopped (so the freeze was at 4mins 50 seconds rewind it back to 4mins 46seconds) do not reload the page press the play or pause buttons in the meantime. If the video doesn't automatically resume then it's something on your computer. Try running your computer OS with safe mode + networking and see if that works.

So if you have done the top and the video then loads and plays past the point it originally froze then it's the CDN. Normally the reason behind it is it's congested.
If you then change the DNS on your computer and reboot your computer. Your computer hopefully wont load that particular CDN server. Then retest.
No different then try at a different time.
Wake up at 6am or whatever and try then. If it works then you have confirmed it's congested. Then let CR or whatever know that server IP blah is congested and hopefully they can pass it on and get a answer.

Side note: Some CDN's like youtube have a massive server farms. Where as ones like Akamai (which CR uses) will have smaller farms on your ISP. They can be taken down and suffer problems for weeks or even months before fixes happen.
Akamai when they had a server farm in my city 720p would work perfectly 1080p used to suffer from a bunch of issues. When Akamai removed their servers from my city behold 1080p worked perfectly. The server farm was just too small for my city to use.

Hopefully this is some assistance to anyone experiencing problems.

Jeeze, the Crunchyroll Player on the website is still flash based? I hope they at least have plans to move away from that security train-wreck, as Chrome are soon to start blocking flash by default.

I use the Android app, which was working okay earlier, then would only play 10 seconds at a time, and is now just dead again. I guess I should get used to seeing this message?

I'm glad I'm not the only one having this problem today. It's really aggravating to be watching an episode of your show and then this happens

It makes it unwatchable at this point and nothing helps it. When I can watch youtube videos at 720p but can't watch anime here at standard definition. It makes me want to just cancel my premium subscription and do illegal streaming . Because at least the illegal sites have actually upgraded to html 5 and are way more reliable.

I agree completely. I support Crunchyroll, and even admire their business practices, but this needs attention. Videos for many people are outright unplayable, and nothing has been done to fix this in the week that it has been happening. Personally, it's the worst today. It really is at the point where shows have become unwatchable because the stream cannot sustain itself for more than 5 or 10 seconds.

I understand the forum mods can do nothing about this, but it needs to be posted about until a reliable solution emerges.

Update for everyone, something that will hopefully fix the video skipping. I won't post the link due to the rules however anyone using chrome should use the CR HLS Player. it changes from flash to html 5 I believe and I haven't had troubles so far. I'll update this if something goes wrong.

I haven't seen anyone get in trouble for posting that link before.

It doesn't change Flash to HTML5. It access the HLS streams used for devices (which are also served by a different CDN than the Flash streams).

Yeah, there isn't an issue with posting the link. Also, it plays the HLS streams in an HTML5 wrapper so it does replace the flash player.
