So i see that Chunibyo, is no longer being streamed, while that sucks i understand why. you simply cant afford to license all these old show and get new ones, the business model doesn't support it. so i was thinking,

what about, purchasing streamable digital copies. its intended to function the same as digital copies the difference is that you guys store the data on your servers and we simply purchase the right to stream it at any time for the indefinate future.

here is an example

-i see new show.

-its a fancy new esports anime

-i watch first episode, instantly fall in love.

-i see that its license will last for two years

-i decide to purchase a streamable digital copy

-in two years crunchy roll loses the streaming of the show, maybe even the ability to sell NEW streamable digital copies

-i can now watch it not only for the next two years but i can watch it till the day that either me or crunchy roll dies.

the price can be like 15-20 bucks.

pros
-i can watch any time i want
-money directly benefits specific anime
-studio gets money as if it were a dvd
-studio does not pay for construction costs of dvds
-studio does not worry about piracy, at least not any more than compared to normal
-it is a far cheaper option to those stupidly expensive blue ray bundles.
-i dont gotta waste space on a blueray collection
-can act like a steam sale, and i bet yall can find the physiology studies valve has done on them, lets just say, money.
-you get to stream stuff to people for the life of your site
-fewer people get sad when the licensing for a show drops.

cons

-anime market looks run by out of touch people who need hella convincing
-money benefits specific anime
-that shit trend about applying the "walled garden" approach to streaming services that netflix, and i assume you are dealing with.
-you have to stream stuff to people for the life of the site.
-legislation about what counts a licensing that i dont know of? who knows lots of BS laws out there.
