So someday soon I can walk into a Best Buy and pick up a CR title distro'd by Funimation off the shelf as a impulse buy.

Thank you CR, there are so many good series that have been locked behind Funi's paywall that I've wanted to watch, and now I can watch them!

I never thought I'd see the day. There should be a dual subscription to both at a discounted price

This I would most definitely sign up to that, at the moment once my free trial of Funi is over it will get the boot, but both at a few pounds discount would make me reconsider.

Will the new Danganronpa be on CR? I don't have Funi and have been dying to watch this.

I really, really hate when your "big" news leave South America out of the picture. It's not like we're the the biggest market, but we're a great opportunity for services like these.

As a journalist and as an anime lover, I have to tell you... I'm really disappointed.

I have just been over to the Funi site and Premium Sub membership is going down in price from £6.99 to £4.99. That might just be enough for me to keep both.

Honestly, I don’t know what to think of this news. First of all, this is definitely great news for many people here who’ll see many famous shows being added over time. I can image many are really excited about this news and I'm happy for those lucky. But what effect will this joint venture have on future region-restrictions in Europe where I live?

People from the UK, Ireland and Nordic countries (and partly the Netherlands) will definitely see a positive effect as Funimation, only until recently interested in USA/Canada only, generally blocked titles which they also had the rights to in their country. This problem will most likely be solved with this cooperation.

People form the rest of Europe are grouped in other obnoxious “language regions”. Does this joint venture makes Crunchyroll loose interest in those other regions, as Funimation is clearly not intended to target any country in Continental Europe soon. If they ask to help invest in licenses, they will definitely not be inclined to do it in regions where Funimation has no coverage.

I guess only time will make things clear…

This is GREAT news, except that none of those Funi shows are available in my region.

*sigh*

If so, I have a shiny new 2 TB drive that would like some anime.

I think I'm the only one that doesn't like this. Funimation is a piece of crap. Crap shows, crap apps. Fuck this. I just see it as Crunchyroll losing out on the simulcast wars. Just let me download Food Wars and we're good.
