Any of you folks in the UK who are on the £4.99 plan with Funimation after the Crunchy/Funi announcement get a price increase in December? I just had a look at my billing history and see it has gone up to £5.99, it is not so much the price increase (although it is infuriating that they won't fix their Fire TV app) but the fact that there was no warning about it at all, no email or even a notification in my account centre or the mobile app.

Glad to see this also, I was missing the original Japanese versions of some anime I saw from Funimation, and now that Hulu only allowed people to see their stuff if you payed, that was a real pain for me. Glad I can see stuff for free in their original language with english subs again.

And for the catalogue titles, you will be waiting for another two years...

Sorry that this is like a month and a half late, if you're still confused about this I have a theory:

It's probably to do with the falling pound in the aftermath of Brexit, it would have been silly to change the price to like 5.27 or something to reflect the actual change so they probably just assumed people would understand if they just raised it a pound to compensate for the money they were losing from the declining exchange rate.

Just checked - yes I too got the price increase. I tweeted support about this and they said to email funimationuk support asap about the issue so I have just done so. I'd advice you do the same.

I did contact them and got a refund, it then happened again and this time was quite stern with me email. Just had a email today to say they have refunded me again and still looking into why this is happening. Good to know it is not just me. But I will not be best pleased if this happens again in the next billing period and I am sure by over charging they are actually breaking consumer/sales laws.

Was the £4.99 plan the old one for subs-only? If so, that minimal offering was eliminated, (at least it was in the US), and all they have now is "regular" membership pricing. It used to be more for both subs and dubs and was called All-Access or Elite or something like that, but the higher tier is gone now and the price for that was actually reduced. Both were melded together here to be a single plan now. Not sure if that applies to the UK as well, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's the reason.

Yeah there is just one package now in the UK also but it's meant to be £4.99. I checked and it's still advertised as £4.99 on the funiuk website so tweeter FUNI support and they said to email ASAP. My account history was £4.99 too then December and January hit and it was £5.99 (ie back to old price I was paying for aforementioned old subs and dubs package). Possibly a bug only effecting the earlier FUNI UK subs who were there when there was multiple packages to choose from.

I'm curious if any of the older anime's on Funimation will be available on CrunchyRoll?

Eventually... At least, according to this not so recent notice on Funi's announcement blog.

Crunchyroll will get most of the subbed content that Funimation has

The addition of more Funimation shows seems to have stalled. I'm wondering when the next batch will be added. It seems like it's taking lots of time make it happen. I assume there are more coming?

Same with nozomi shows - they've got access but literally getting them on the service seems to take time, lots of it. Meanwhile licenses need amended or updated (they've lost rights to some shows since partnership was announced).

Personally i think its part of the deal with FUNI as if they literally got them all at once then Funimation would so lose so much money from lost subscriptions in such a short space of time it would spell trouble for the company. I assume CR will announce another batch soon once things have settled with next season's licenses and announcements as obv they're priority for well... Both companies i guess.
