So are we going to get funimation dubs (rather see cowboy bebop dubed) and they get our subs? Is it gonna be full catalog sharing orrr no?

This is awesome. The Funimation user interface for streaming online and on Roku is HORRIBLE. I hate the way their queue is formatted. Crunchyroll is at the top of the game when it comes to delivering content in a very user friendly way.

As far as I see it, there is an important question missing in the FAQ. How long will we have to wait until this partnership also beneficts users living outside the English speaking countries? How long it will take to Funimation to see that we exist and watch anime, too?

These animes will never be avaiable in Brazil? (this question includes Gurren Lagann )
I'm also curious to know if Mirai Nikki and One Punch Man will someday be in Crunchyroll and avaiable in Brazil too.

Question. This doesn't mean we will have ads now, right?

This is huge. I am currently subscribed to both services, but if more older titles from Funimation appear on CR, I may just consider staying on CR.

So you only have to buy one subscription if you watch JP or EN exclusively, but if you watch either depending on the series, you have to subscribe to both.

I hope FUNi puts Code Geass on Hulu, then.

Please put dubs and subs on the same site and don't add to the silly divisions over that.

So I have a few questions regarding the partnership

My first question is how will this affect sentai filmworks? are they officially hands off and not allowed to license any properties for home release since funimation will now be doing that? or are shows that funimation doesn't wish to give a home release will be allowed to be licensed by sentai ?

My other question is that once this is all fully implemented, will Crunchyroll be strictly subs and Funimation strictly dubs ?
Or will there still be some middle ground where funimation will still have some subs that crunchyroll does not?

Sentai is independent from both companies, they just often make arrangements to stream their licensed shows on Crunchyroll. I imagine they may reduce the amount they do this slightly because of this news, but they seem to have been gradually decreasing how much they license anyway. Basically, if Crunchyroll gets a show because of an arrangement with Sentai, I can't imagine it being one of the shows that'll get dubbed on Funimation.

I think for a while (could take as long as a couple years I reckon) Funimation will continue to have some subbed shows that Crunchyroll does not, however the end goal seems to be for Crunchyroll to gain all Funimation's shows with subtitles, whilst Funimation will be broadcast dubbing more shows than they usually do, making selections from the entire pool of licensed shows per season.

---------------------

This is the best news I think I've ever heard! I can't actually express how happy I was when I saw this announcement I love both companies so I think this is the best decision anyone could have made omg I don't even know what to say I can't stop smiling :'D

I live in the UK and there haven't been any of the new additions updated on Crunchyroll as of yet and no mention of other territories in the FAQ. I assume there's more licensing stuff getting in the way like the reason we can't watch One Piece legally here? Or is it just a matter of waiting a bit longer for the new content? Regardless I think the team up is a great idea. I pay subscriptions to both premium services so more content (if we get it here) is always welcome.

i have a question concerning crunchyroll's catalog avalaibility in Canada:

A few month ago, the catalog got locked down under the subscriber-only, so will they ever unlock it back for non-subscribers but with ads like before?
