If that's the case, it'd be great if they combined their subscription services. I hate paying for 2 anime streaming sites as is, now they're going to be sharing more of their respective catalogs as well.

I really hate Funimation and I don't trust them at all but if it means I can watch all of Funimation titles legally then I guess I'm okay with it.

That will be great for someone who is looking for both sub and dub from different sources for only one subscription. Sadly, you will still need to pay for two services but now Funimation is all about dub while crunchyroll sticks with sub. Still who knows, maybe in the future...

So which sub should I cancel? Since they overlap I'll only need 1 sub anyway.

It depends. If you watch nothing but new subtitled anime, cancel Funimation. If you watch nothing but dubbed anime cancel Crunchyroll. If you watch the older stuff on both sites, keep both for now. To be honest, since Funimation is dropping their subscription fee to $5.99/month, I recommend keeping both

If Crunchy achieved Licensing for all the shows that I can't get in this country via Funimation I'd happily pay double for the subscription.

Good, the more options, the better. I hope this will transfer some people from illegal websites that harm the industry over to here that actually support it.

So according to Funi FAQs, their sub-pass sub (which I currently have) will become free but they will also begin to phase out subtitled shows (which I prefer), so my question is, aside from the announced shows, what about others like Tales of Zestiria the X, Servamp, Handa-kun, etc.? Are these just going to be dub only titles? Also, what about older shows? Are these going to be dub only now? As I still watch older shows a lot from Funi's extensive catalogue, I'd very much prefer not to have to watch dubs. This makes me have a ton of questions being a subscription holder to both services.

As an aside, the fact that I'll be able to stop using the Funi android app is a godsend. It is absolutely terrible and unoptimized, with frequent "oops there was an error" messages for no reason, freezing, and in general shoddy UI. I usually end up just watching on the site, even on mobile, because it streams better. Crunchyroll definitely has the upperhand on the app side of things (except for organizing your queue, on the site and the app. recently added sorting? date aired sorting? please? 100+ shows takes a while to find the ones I'd like to watch) between their news, anime, and manga apps. If only CR would drop the flash video on their site already.

Dear lord, their web player is pretty bad, lol. I wonder when they'll ever upgrade it and not break their promise again like they made two and a half years ago?

This great cause it means that more titles will see a home release here in the US and hopefully on bluray. got a list of titles that have no official home release licenses yet.

So basically,

-CR gets more simulcasts, so does Funi
-CR gets more catalog titles

-Funi gets the "rights" (IDK the right word) to publish CR anime DUBBED (do they get subs as well?), on their service
-Funi & CR begin to put out CR anime on BD/DVD/Digital

I dont think this will make CR users want to sub to Funi or Funi users to sub to CR, but will probably incentivize people to sub or stay subbed to either one. Putting out anime on DVD is really cool though, it would be nice to own some of my favourite anime that is on CR but not out elsewhere

If they don't allow those half retarded mods from funi over here, that will be OK.
