I'm an annual subpass subscriber too, and I'm okay with how they are handling it. We are getting an automatic upgrade to all-access without it being a recurring thing, so I think they are handling it pretty fairly. I can't tell if I got the 60 free days tacked on to my membership since I don't remember when I actually renewed, but if they did do that also for us, it's pretty nice...even if we are unlikely to stick around much after it becomes pretty much dub-only.

If you fairly recently bought the subpass you could try contacting their support and seeing if they'll do a refund, but my gut says that if you're already halfway through the period they probably wouldn't.

Keep in mind that it's going to take a few more months for all the content to switch over, and not absolutely everything is coming over, so there will still be some subtitled content that we can probably only legitimately get there. I'll probably take advantage of the remainder of my subscription to scoop some of that up.

I am so going to love not having to maintain two queues though. CR is my primary and I watch simulcasts from my queue pretty much daily. I often half-forget that I have a few simulcasts on Funi too, and I don't recall with much accuracy what day of the week they are on, so they tend to bunch up.

Yeah, I am pretty sure that I was a subpass subcriber as well, but now my subscription shows all access until around the end of the year, which I am pretty sure is about year after I last renewed. If that is how they handled it, them I am fine with that, even though I never watch, nor am interested in, dubs.

well well well cr prepared to be even more ruined
doesn't matter, since i stopped using the streaming services here years ago, but that being said, the kings of crappy sub placement and subtitling overall have no place being even on cr, whose subs are still some margin better than theirs. moreover, funi's got an ugly site and dysfunctional, lousy player to boot. now, if they could stand to learn a few things from cr, that'd be nice, but my pessimistic mindset, despite not even being a streamer here anymore, somehow only redirects to the probability that funi'll lower the quality of cr, what little is left, i suppose.

In a way, it is. You're consuming your entertainment for free on an illegal website that doesn't help nor contribute to the Japanese anime/manga industry at all. In fact, you're putting the money into the pockets of criminals rather than the pockets of the creators who work their butt off to bring you this content.

I've used Funimation countless times, and their subtitles are just fine. I'm not really sure how you think they're crappy? I've watched my fair share of fan subs back in the day when I didn't know any better and it was far from anything preferable.

I'll take a wait and see approach. I just paid for an all acess pass on funimation the other day just to see if their droid app worked. It is still mostly a fail. But there are a few titles I wanted to see since I dropped my funi subscription last spring. And now I can use funi's dubs to bring my friends into anime while also showing them how bad funimations dubs are. Thus bringing them over to the sub community mwahahahaha.

BTW funimation's forrums are still down. Guess they still are afraid of constructive criticism. But as they cannot take down our forrums I will share this with you all. The app is complete garbage, their new titles since last spring are....lacking. Overall, I would say don't waste your money
Although to be honest all that I care about is berserk ep 11 and alderman on the sky ep 10 that CR will air later today. Of course funi has bupkiss simulcasting today lmao.

Interesting... Their FAQ page says this (I was sub-only too, so I snipped non-pertinence):

I'm a current US Funimation subscriber. What will happen to my subscription?
We will be contacting each of our subscribers by email,
If you're currently a SubPass subscriber, you will not be charged for your subscription after today and you will have 60 days of upgraded access to FunimationNow Premium.

I haven't gotten any email from Funi verifying the above (yet?), but I did get a PayPal email saying "FUNimation.com canceled your automatic payments".

Then on my profile it says this (emphasis mine):

Subscriber Role: All-AccessPass
End Date: 09-20-2017
Payment Method: PayPal
You have requested cancellation, your subscription will be available through the end date above.

On the one hand, I guess it's not actually cheating me or anything, my sub-pass was going to expire on that date anyway, but it doesn't appear as though I'm getting the 60 days mentioned in the FAQ. I guess I'm playing the waiting game to see what happens on the 20th.
