All these people, all these wonderful people who are likely fellow military kids, who pack up and move every 3 years and have no long lasting friends or hobbies or consistency growing up. You are my people lol

Every three years? You got lucky! I moved once per year or every two years if I was lucky!

I moved 14 times in the span of 16 years! It was insane, though I got to see and experience a whole new world of cultures! Also, use the internet to keep in touch with old friends. I may live 5k miles from some of my old friends... but we still talk and game daily!

I've moved 3 times in my life. During university to a dorm (not fully, was home on weekends), out of my parents place to another city far away and then within the city once because the owner sold the apartment we were renting. Moving never was fun, very stressing. And its been always out of need, not from desire. But I guess its just realistic to think that I'm an adult, and that means doing stuff that you don't like.

I've lived in 17 different places. My actual number of moves is much higher with moving between school, internships, study abroad and my parent's home. I think there was about a 2-3 year period where I moved every 3-4 months. I basically had a mobile room that I could pack into my car. The longest I've lived in one place since leaving for college is 2.5 years. I apparently don't settle down very well. The actual move is always stressful but I almost always like being in a new place.

Well after living in the same house i grew up in for about 16 years i have actually moved quite alot of times since.
When my parents seperated we moved into one house and it ended up only being for a few months if i recall? i think the owners decided to knock it down or something?
We then moved into another house for probably a couple years or so and then we had to move because the owner was going to give the house to his daughter or something like that so we moved to another house that the same guy owned which was actually just across the street lol.
We stayed there a couple years or so and then we moved again and i lived there for like 6-7 years i think.
I finally moved out of home when i was 26, i moved into a house with a work mate and we lived there for 1 year, then i moved into my own unit and lived there for about 3 1/2 years. I had to break lease and move due to some horrible neighbours.
I then moved in with some friends, rented out a room there. It was a really big room. It was cool it was pretty much a bed room, computer roon and lounge room in one and had my fridge in there and etc but i only stayed there for 5 months because one of my mates was a really really annoying unemployed drug and gambling addict and would never leave me alone(he still doesn't..) and was always asking me for shit.
I then moved back home for about 5 weeks. I had initially hoped to stay there for at least a few months but circumstances made it not work out.
Now been renting a house for probably about 3 years.

Short answer Nine times!

Might have to move again next year because the place where i work is shutting down..

I'm moving right now and IT SUCKS!!! way too much work

Yeah packing and cleaning the house that you're moving out of is the worst part. Plus you have to make the decision as to whether to annoying family and friends and get them to help you move with multiple cars and trailors or hire a trailer or a truck and drive the truck yourself, or pay removovalists which can be quite expensive.
I have done all of those things. Sometimes its worth paying more and saving the hassell but it is an area that you can save alot of money in by doing it yourself.

14 times. While moving itself is a pain in the posterior, this last move has certainly been the best. Got my wife, daughter and I away from some really negative family situations.

Thats alot. Yeah i hear you. Iam so glad that i have moved further way from some of my friends from back in the day who can be very annoying or have a negitive impact on my life.

3 times. Once when I was really young, another time when there was a fallout with the family, and now to my current home.

Well first off, moving sucks either way you slice it, only for the to and from, not so much the getting use to part, but for me, when it was my 3rd time moving I moved out with barely nothing, but I always did like to travel with whatever I could carry on my back( so to speak ). To be honest it would be awesome to move into a place fully furnished already fuck moving furniture and fridges.

Moves can change your life, or just make it worse, but every move I made has changed my life for the better, and slowly I am becoming a better person overall. The 3rd move has really made me responsible, cutting all those luxuries away, now you have to pay bills, pay insurence, renew your stickers, clean the house, paying into tax free savings, mutual funds, stocks, groceries, laundry. I always hate to ask for help, but now I choose carefully who I trust, what people to go to, trial and error, never make the same mistake twice.

Some day you need to learn on your own the game of life isn't a fun ride when you aren't responsible. Even though at times It can be stupid, you just have to smile and laugh, just push through until you eventually find your baLance .

Coming from a family who had something, moving back to nothing, then moving back to something. You just can't expect things to be handed to you, even though you wish that was true, and even though my parents mean the world to me for what they have done for me, the only success is where your steps take you, so make them count.

My parents were migrant workers so we moved all the time. If I would have to guess, we moved between 17-23 times.

I think my range of moving has probably been 26 or 28 times. I've for sure moved from different continents, countries, states/provinces, cities and neighborhoods. I think at one point I was living off my suitcases and airports. I don't mind moving, as long as it's moving to good areas. I'm one of those kids who never understood what the attachment of a hometown is like. A lot of the friends I've kept in touch with growing up are all around the world, so being stationary feels a bit strange to me.
