I've never been that broke, but I have been in situations where there's nothing but non-perishables. Like...nothing left but Pizza Pops and Kraft Dinner. So I've never really gone hungry, but I've been without milk, actual bread or meat, fruit/vegetables (including canned fruit or soup), etc.

I only eat instant noodles with boiled eggs. We have no boiled eggs and I want to save my last packet of noodles for when I get some eggs.

As for the cup of noodles, yeah I need to stock up on some.

Ill just take one of my side kick noodle packs I have put away just for that reason. I do love my curry noodles.

Its not hard to stock up on packs of instant noodle, not even 1$ and dirt cheap in the states.

Yeah they got a lot of sodium, but it stops my cravings, and thats all I will usually eat, 1 pack of noodles usually keeps me going for a day especially when I am just staying at home on weekends and not being active Like I usually am during the week.

Its not hard. Buy 1 or 2 every so often just to save up, especially when they go on sale. not even 20$ could last you a long time. Like its not that difficult to find cheap food just to satisfy your hunger. Sometimes I don't want to buy groceries, because I have a habit of eating everything in one day, its a joke. Sometimes I wont even eat during the day, I'll be so tired that I fall asleep and it just resets my hunger.

You learn that your body doesn't even need much food to sustain yourself, just water. The more active you are the more food you will need, the less active you are, the more you save. People find ways to manage what they have no matter what it takes, you just need to be ready and willing for it

The closest I've come is having only dried food and long life food left. Some family got for me or others gave to me. I'm creative, I added it all to what I'd got and made a decent meals with it. At the same time when other family were down I went over with groceries and cooked them a good meal. I've grown up in a culture where you always serve food to guests and have some to take to friends and relatives in any given circumstance.

Is it possible you could find out if there's a local food pantry/bank available to you? If so find out if they deal with unemployed and pay them a visit. It'll help take the strain off of your mother having to stretch her resources. When your circumstances change there may come a time when you're able to be donating to such places.

Good luck with the job hunting.

Define "nothing to eat." If I may; are they any ingredients you can list? I may know a recipe.

I look in the refrigerator and there is no food. I look in the cabinets and there is only spices and other things.

Depending upon the spices you can easily make a broth, even a sauce. If you have butter or oil and flour, you can make a rue and make a sauce, with dumplings.
Melt six tablespoons of butter/heat six tablespoons of cooking oil at medium low to medium heat. Stir in six tablespoons of flour, keep stirring and make sure to incorporate completely. When flour mixture begins to brown, add two cups of water or milk. Slowly, at first, making sure to incorporate the mixture smoothly. Mix very well. Begin to bring to a simmer. Add spices to taste, such as garlic powder, Italian seasoning, caraway seeds, dried parsely, salt, and pepper. Make sure it's to taste. The flour will begin to thicken the broth soon. If you have good cheeses, like parmesan and asiago, stir in grated amounts, to taste. When mixture thickens to your liking, add dumbling mixture, by spoonfuls into the sauce. Heat from the sauce will cook the dumplings. Covering with a lid will hasten the cooking process. Try and only cook at a simmer.

Horrible thing people go through, food to me should be free.

Electronics and all that other stuff i have no problem paying for but food should be free Water is free if you go to the Parks or on Grocery store which is fine but should also be in more places to be provided.
