So I was wondering when was the first time you started streaming anime? I think I started 2008 on a site called anime fuel no longer around... Streaming was started to get big around that time. I watched the whole dragon ball series and spread from there. this wasn't the first time I watched anime just the first time I streamed anime. When was the first time you streamed/ used the internet to watch anime? I love crunchyroll been using this for a while now and love it.

I know video streaming has been around for a long time. First video was a final fantasy 10 trailer I think.

I couldn't imagine watching it up on a dial up my parents would always get calls less than 20 minutes apart. I watch Rocky III back in 2002 online but it wasn't dial up, it was braodband. Took like 6 hours to watch lol.

from the moment I was able to. Not too far from when I crawled out the archaic dial up abyss.

I can't remember the site name or the first anime I streamed. The first thing I remember is watching lucky star on that website, though. It was my first cute girls doing cute things anime, and I wasn't able to understand it at first, because it has no plot. It grew on me very quickly, even though I didn't understand most of the references. It was bad timing for me to watch the show back then, and I've been wanting to go back and rewatch it for nostalgia purposes and to see what all the references I missed out on/learned after already finishing the series.

That was around mid 2009, so I probably streamed anime for the first time a year earlier or so, because I would occasionally stream something much earlier than Lucky Star, but LS was the first show I watched quickly and started from beginning to end. I remember being shocked that there was only 24/26 episodes.

I'm feeling a bit melancholy now.

I think it was 2009 when my sister had netflix and was through my computer. wasnt into streaming cause I hated watching movies/episodes on my computer. Got really into it in 2015 when I discovered crunchyroll and how to stream it on my TV. total late bloomer lol

I don't actually remember. It just feels like streaming has been part of my life since day one.

June 2014 when I watched it on Crunchyroll. The anime I remember watching at that time was Hunter x Hunter.

I don't remember if the first anime I streamed was on Crunchyroll, when they first went legit, or shortly before that with One Piece on the Funimation One Piece site. I never used the illegal streaming sites, because I prefer download to streaming. Several years ago, when the legit sites started getting most everything I would be interested out of Japan, I moved fully to the legit streaming sites. I still prefer download, but I don't think there is a way to get legit download, and it would be ridiculously expensive anyway. Fortunately, the streaming sites have (so far) kept anime for a decent amount of time, though.

Late 2014
Was an unknown world for me, so I went for the "safer" sites: I think it was a mix of Crunchyroll and Hulu
