I'm as progressive as they come but I'm not in agreement with people opposing and calling these laws "Anti-trangender" If you have a dick, use the mens room, when you transition, then go ahead and use the womans rest room. Everyplace in the whole damn world doesnt have the resources to be checking if some vile person is going to commit a horrible crime in the ladies room.

Transitioning is less and less becoming about sexual reassignment and more about hormone therapy so if you accept the concept of "transgender", determining which bathroom should be used based on genitalia doesn't really work.

Besides, there is really no indication that allowing people to use the bathroom of their choice would result in a statistically significant increase in crime. Peeping toms are going to peep whether or not these laws are in place. All laws like HB2 do are make some people feel like shit.

Private company, if they don't want to do business there that's their right.

Yes, and they should immediately lose the right to organize any school events due to this discriminatory action. Oh, that's right, you don't have to be an Obama declared victim class to be discriminated against. But then some will never get this through their broken heads...

It is beyond tragic when people forget there is a reason the Federal government has limits on their power.

I agree with you, yet how much more likely are we to catch a peeping tom walking into a womans room if the law is in place? Idk about you but if I saw men who look like they lure school children into their van walk into a ladies room, I wouldnt feel safe for maybe a loved one to walk in to a public restroom. Can't be everywhere at once. Lets keep it funky.

A state passed a law, a private company doesn't like it so it decided to move an event out of state.

Don't see the big deal here.

The irony about all of the corporate and NCAA withdraw is that is hurting the areas that didn't support it and have tried to do the opposite. Charlotte for example was trying to pass an ordnance that would do the opposite of House Bill 2 (an was the reason for its creation).

There so confusion regarding HB2 due to media oversimplification, its far worst than people give it credit for. While it has been popularly know as "the bathroom bill', it extends far beyond that. It allows for housing and employment to be denied over sexual orientation and a variety of other discrimination and opens to door to an Jim Crow-esque of homosexuals and bisexuals but just restricting transgender people to restrooms of their biological sex.

If it was just transgender restroom issue I honestly wouldn't care that much (affecting less than 2 in 1000 using the largest estimates), just like I don't care who is peeing next to meas long as you keep your hands to yourself. Between the dorm cross dresser in college and year of military I am unaffected by who is going next to me.

It's a public health code in my town. Males, even transgender ones have to go to the men's room. It's just not as strictly enforced, but it is enforced, just not as strictly.

I mean, how is someone gonna scrutinize someone else to be sure the individual really is female, before letting them into the women's restroom. You know?

I don't see why it matters where or who we go to the bathroom with. If someone peeked in my stall, I'd be freaked out regardless of gender. Just give me a damn stall.

Although Blackrose, I feel as if you're proving Xxanthar's point about liberals being overly sensitive. Mild use of sarcasm isn't a big deal. Let it go.
