Hi,

I'm a 19-year-old musician/composer (my main instrument is guitar) from Finland and I would really like to know how my music resonates with you crunchyrollers, or if it doesn't at all.

This track is a pretty progressive and (mostly) easygoing instrumental thing and even has a real violin solo in the end. Check it out if you're at all interested:

I really liked it, you're seriously talented. It kind of reminds me of CHON or maybe Plini, and even before I read the comment about what the track was about I was thinking about a journey.

Thank you so much for the kind words! Glad you liked it.

Plini happens to be one of my favourite musicians of all time so I've drawn a lot of inspiration from there .

I totally hear the Plini influence (when did Plini get so popular? I love it )! Overall, I think its pretty darn good (I wish I could write like this. I've been a bit pissed off at the songs I've been writing lately ;~; ). Anyways, I think it could use some work on the production side but the actual composition is pretty sweet.

Thanks!

I think it's great that people like Plini are getting popular. It gives me hope that maybe someday when I'm better I too will... :DDD

I think the best way to make better songs is to just keep on writing them and to really listen closely to the stuff you like. You can find a lot of cool "tools" for composition and arrangement from your favourite bands. When I listen to most of my songs from like a two years ago (when I was discovering prog and wanted to do stuff like that) I cringe a lot but I'm kinda glad I went through that :D.

And yeah, the production could be a lot better but at least I think I'm slowly getting better at that stuff too .

Thank you so much! That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :D.

I label what I do as progressive rock and progressive metal but I would say my music does sometimes have some very minor modern jazz fusion influences too.
