I wanted to just post a general discussion on empathy.

And since I started it its only proper I go first.

so my question is:

Is it weird for me to sometimes feel more empathy towards ants than humans?

Does that make me a bad person?

and finally:

Sometimes when I think of all the stupid things we humans have caused I wonder if it would not just be better if we all just died?

There might be something wrong with you. Humans are capable of great horrors and great kindness.

Humans are cockroaches. We're so stubborn.

You may want to consider getting out more so you stop looking at your ants with such lust and find a new idol of adulation.

im not really going to feel empathy for a ant i stepped on probably stepped on so many that killed a colonies worth without even realizing it. now when it comes to humans its generally a person to person basis and what events etc. nor am i the sort that thinks humanity is better of dead.

I find it interesting that a lot of people can agree that they're more empathetic to dogs and cats but when it gets into insect territory it's considered too edgy.

But anyway, there are a lot of shitty people who I can't care about, liars and manipulators being the worst of the bunch for me, but I don't think that's what you mean when you mean "sometimes" feeling more empathy towards ants than people.

It is. Insects don't have many mental processes. It really is a question of "Can they suffer?".

Well I find ants to be annoying but I can see where your coming from, ants live by instinct and don't do anything wrong, they can be pests but only because they wish to survive, not purposely being a hindrance. Humans on the other hand are different, we have choices to be annoying or kind and it does seem most choose to be a pest/plagues to the world but then again I find humans to be very negative so maybe that's why so many think that.

kind of feel emotionally dead to be honest.

I'm not even mad at people criticising me.

if I am to summarize I'd have to say that I believe noting really matters.

the heat death of the universe is inevitable anyways.

if not for my mother I would probably have killed myself long ago.

I'd rather be ant food than live my sad life.

Has a human wronged you in the past?

It is still argued if there anything besides that innate programming that makes up an ant. Some say our most sophisticated AIs are probably par with ants.

My mum saved me when I tried to kill myself, but I assume you mean it in the "wait for her to die first" way , and not in the "she's literally stopping me way"

Mine was a joke, born out an innate desire to call someone an imbecile.
