Well the study did mention that many prefer waiting until they're in their 30s to start a family. I think thats pretty smart. Better than having a bunch of broke-ass teenagers having kids and living off welfare/or on their parents tab.

If not its just a bit too late to start one?
As some can't or very little chance to have children at that stage or older depends on their body though.

Perhaps young adults in Japan are just starting to get a little smarter about their relationship choices.

I wonder if this is why they used to have arranged marriages?

Pretty much--
Any open display of affection is considered a bit unsuitable for public, even for married couples.

Which is why boys and girls activities at school are more or less segregated "responsibly", like Catholic school--And, like Catholic school, the boys grow up with a fear of girls from afar, and vice versa, rather than associating more co-ed which might break down the fears and stigmas about asking each other out on a date.
Instead, in Japan--as we know from the school comedies--boys are uninterested in girls rather than sports, focusing their interest more on idealized anime images and fetish objects like glasses, twin-tails and gym uniforms, while girls secretly put love-letters in shoe lockers hoping Senpai will notice them.

Starts to cause a bit of problems when you approach thirty.

I think the fact that its also women, not just men that is the surprising part. Not enough sexually active men to go around i guess?
I mean with anime and hentai and porn and video games and work work work you can see how some men fall into that but its not hard for a women to get sex, if she wants it.

It's obvious what the cause is. Anime is destroying their society from the inside out.

First it's them. Then us.

Honestly this needs to be a trend around the world. We have over seven billion people and could use a much needed reduction in the population.

This is how the Muslims will take over. (lol i know its not just them that breed like rabbits or flys) But Japanese people and white people dont breed enough and this is why they will both end up extinct.
But if you could implement that to Indians and Muslims and Mexicans and Africans (like what China did in the past, well 1 kid not remain virgins) then you may have a point.

Not even ten years ago, I read about Japan having issues, regarding there not being enough housing and land availability in places like Tokyo to support continually growing populace. Well, well... Looks like things sorted themselves out, yet now people are bitching about the opposite. It rains; people complain. It doesn't rain; people complain.

Well, if it rains, the roof leaks. If it doesn't rain, the crops don't grow.

Yeah but having an aging population isn't really a solution though. If that continues they'll end up needing immigration and the Japan we all know will be lost.
Similar issues here in Australia (not virgins but single people(or seperated people), low birth rates, high divorce rates, etc) we've had droughts, not enough housing so the price or houses and renting has sky rocketed , unemployment is up and yet there was a big push for "we need a bigger Australia" and talk of an aging population.
So the government implemented a "baby bonus" basically you have a baby you get $5000. And of course the more kids you have the more government aid you get.
And i think the aging population thing was a way of justifying the very high amount of immigraton.
