First never blame the children, then the issue is not that people should be allowed or not. The problem is the building and those who made it, if its a clearly a family building it would be made of concrete, building of plywood or wood planks are meant to adulthood. I have live in the first floor a family build all my life and never got that issue since sound can not pass that much concrete (unless taking a direct hit from something)

What?

They don't got that issue since those BUILDINGs are made of concrete.

The two floor house made of wood that is usually found in the states resonate easily with steps

Why are you trying to compare those different kinds of buildings claiming one is for children and one isn't. Also this works wonders in keeping in heat and killing sounds, but stomping around is still annoying as fuck.

We just moved into a downstairs apartment. the tenants above have a school age child. he looks to be around 10 or 9. the kid runs and stumps and jumps constantly like a wild animal - strike that. on nature shows wild animals are mostly calm. other first floor tenants in the complex have complained on tenants with noisy kids living above them.

so here's the question.Should people with kids age 1 to 13 be allowed to rent 2nd and 3rd floor apartment (any floor above the 1st floor).

my answer is no.

What's yours?

You know that anyone at any age can be annoying as fuck right?????

I once had neighbors that would occasionally practice playing their bagpipes... It's bad enough when it's played by a competent musician, but when someone isn't good it's really really obnoxious.

It's the parents' lack of home training for their children.

Not just children in apartments, but at public places in general. Don't bring babies, toddlers, and little kids to R-rated movies...they don't shut up, they cry, and spill crap everywhere during a movie.

Don't expect your little bumpkin to be quiet on a long plane or train ride. Most likely the mother was a stressball when she was pregnant and decided to pass that on to her offspring.

Don't let your kids run around restaurants and do nasty things like slob all over their fists and wipe it on other occupied tables/booths. Strap them down to a seat and keep them shut up.

I didn't run around in the house. I had a structured schedule and time to play and act like a child, either in school or extracurricular activities. I would sit quietly on trains and planes, and most likely fall asleep after departure. I actually ate my food and stayed seated in restaurants, speaking only when spoken to. I was like a ninja in the movie theater; I didn't even try eating popcorn during the quietest parts of a movie. I don't know what's so hard about taming these kids, if they started training them from when they were born they wouldn't be so annoying in public.

And I don't even hate kids. I've taken care of a few and know how to keep them quiet and content while keeping their minds occupied with useful information. There just needs to be a lot more Tiger Moms in this world.

It's an APARTMENT. Deal with it. You're gonna have a crap ton of different neighbors.

I've had neighbors ranging from noisy kids to hearing people having sex to even wife/kid beaters.

No worse than what my dorm was like and those were people 18 to 21 years old. Just deal with it for a few years and then he'll be a teenager, shut in his room, listening to music on his headphones all day while he mopes.

dude, from my experience annoying adult neighbors are twice as awful to deal with than kids.

seriously, if you don't want to deal with noisy apartment neighbors, then move to a rented house... Or buy a house... But then be ready for the noisy neighbor that blasts their music too loud...

Well, I've had a similar experience in a place I once lived in. There was a man that lived above me with two small children.. they were nice enough neighbors, but noisy as fuck. I don't miss it.

I'm sorry that the living quarters is not up to your standards and I'm sorry that you don't live in a two story house or a condo.

Next time they go out place a bear trap on their floor where he runs the most.
