How do you like your steak?

I hate steak. It tastes like nothing other than the blood, which is mediocre, and the meat is too tough to be pleasant. Sure, it can be seasoned well to make it better, but so can anything else. I'd rather have some nice salmon. It's also unreasonably expensive when it absolutely cannot actually be worth that much. It's just one big rip off.

If I have to eat steak, it'll be medium or medium-rare. Somewhere in between those two.

Also I just finally read the poll and OP and realise this is not actually about steak, but steak gets me so mad that I will leave my rant regardless.

It leaves me a little blue that such a wonderful poll is so rare, but such is the nature of the medium.

Agggghhh! Spiders!! Why didn't I check for them?!!

A couple years ago I used to help a friend sell stuff at model railroad conventions. The guy always had a ton of shit on his rig to load / unload at these 2-, 3-day long venues. On the day before the big shows his crew would be first at the coliseum gate (3 hours before opening to all vendors to set up) and usually the last to leave (11 PM, night before...everyone else set up and left 4 hours previous).

Anyway, getting dependable, reliable help was always an issue for him account way too much crap for less than stellar wage to shows that consumed 3-4 days of your life living like a carnival. Everyone dependable that knew him where he resided avoided being available so it was not unusual for him to bring along someone that would have been better off left in a group home permanently. On 1 trip he, me, and Captain Crash (limited intelligence, lackluster rational thought processes, wrecked 2 fire engines before being let go by the volunteer FD) were enroute to an Atlanta, GA show. We stopped at a restaurant in the PM. Lucked out as this 1 was a place that served meats besides the usual McDonald's fare. All of us chose steak. The waitress asked each of us "How do you want it served?" 2 of us gave the usual answer: he, well done; me, medium rare; Captain Crash.....he looked at her quizzically dazed and confused and then uttered "on a plate, of course!" "How else would I eat it." LOL. I didn't say a word. The waitress, to her credit, took it for what it was and rephrased the question so the Captain wouldn't wind up with a burnt offering. Having never met or worked with this man before with that remark I suddenly became aware of what was in store for the remainder of Adventures helping Don that week.
