Are Japanese people racist? |
What did you just say you mother fcker?!!! I'll have you know that I reported you for this racist garbage. Are you trying to insinuate that the glorious Turkish people are not a 'key' race?? Turkish kebab will never bow down to you white pigs. I'm Turkish and I'm proud that I've already impregnated 4 different German girls. I can't wait until the day the white race, the most horrible, destructive, enslaving, murderous, manipulative and greedy race to have ever plagued this planet is finally bread out of existance. Enjoy your ban kiddy. Posting racist offensive hate speech like that is a good way to stop seeing anime. Oh and by the way. I hope your paernts are rich cause they're going to need a lawyer since i sent this to the NAACP! the negro association of advancing colored pride doesn't put up with racial inequality like this so enjoy the expensive lawyesr or your time in jail. (I bet your tender white skin will really like meeting some 'key races' while you're there). LONG. LIVE. KEBAB. |

The existence of this thread is racist. Trying to generalize an entire nationality as racially bigoted is, in and of itself, an act of ethnic generalization - a form a racism.
BOOM. |

Tashi_Chan wrote: Its not really racism. The Japanese are xenophobic and have been for awhile. Its starting to change among the younger generation but I wouldn't really call it racism. If you call it racism, it's not really towards one race but to ALL foreigners in general. You got to remember for thousands of years its been just the Japanese people but now there are foreigners everywhere. Nowadays they are trying to push for globalization which is definitely not a bad thing. Overall they are just not always that friendly towards foreigners but as I said before, its starting to change. Agreed. |

When I read the title of this thread I immediately thought of;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3bPx3LkQIg && David Rice from majin tantei nougami neuro ......xD Its funny but I don't think japanese people are intentionally racist.... but even so, I think its the type that people dont really take seriously. Thats just how I see it... *shrugs* |

Not so much racist as they really don't like other people in their lands. I think they are just proud to be japanese

They are not racists at all... Well some are... but they mostly like their own and they are not open to other ideas...
and also they hate stupid Foreigners who come to Japan and fuck shit up... and think all Foreigners are the same... Example 1: A Foreigner in Japan Kills And/Or Rape a little Japanese girl.. They would think ALL Foreigners are like that one guy.... Example 2: A Foreigner rents an apartment in Japan and trashes the place without cleaning it... Thats why sometime you see a... No Gaijins allowed sign .. and also that's why some Japanese won't rent to Foreigners... If you're respectful and speak the language.. . You can convince them that you are not like the other foreigners and you might land yourself a good looking room in the apartment for cheap.. |

Hi, don't be afraid to say it.

Are Japanese people racist? I can say with 100% accuracy from studying and experience, NO! Japan does not have any laws on racism so of course you'd see "No foreigners" sometimes. They are rare and you'd have to look for them, but no. Japan is not a racist country. You'd see the same signs and occasional discrimination(if not more) in the US or UK if no laws prohibited such actions.

I learned something while in America: Apparently, facts are un-american.

I found no racism in Japan. Spent nearly two weeks traveling from city to city in early June.

I've never met a japanese person I didn't like and said HI or good morning too. except people who treat others unfairly or unjustly, or act haughtily, those types I'd avoid to a certain extent.

You know calling them "Japs" is a good way to get them to not like you. The term itself is a derogatory name from the war, therefore racist in nature. Just saying. I've heard many people talk about these signs, some say they're everywhere and some say only in a few places. I saw none, not that I was looking all that hard but I think I'd be able to notice a sign saying "no foreigners" on the front door. Right? |

I think this issue have changed due to the tsunami Aid, Japanese people got.
At least it seamed alot of Japanese was suprised and thankful by the enormous support from foreign contrys But to be honest you will find racism in evry contry if you look hard enough. Some Japanese do take precations though, but this is not due to racism but due to bad experience from foreigners. |

The correct term would be 'xenophobic', not racist.
And no, I really don't think they are so much anymore. I'm a Caucasian female wondering around Japan with a tiny Caucasian baby and I am constantly being swarmed by Japanese people (women, men, children) who tell me all the time how cute my son is. They don't seem to be in the least bit shy about conversing with me, either. And being that I live near a military base here in Japan and that many different races are represented by the Navy here in Sasebo, I would say it's not really a problem. Many of the men here have taken Japanese wives. I do not know if this is because they prefer more exotic women or if they had really bad luck in the states and they finally found someone they liked being around overseas. But I have seen other men of other races who also had Japanese wives. And I have rarely seen a few Japanese men who took Caucasian women to be their wives. I just don't see the xenophobia everyone always accredits Japan with. |
