Kind of odd to have this immediately after Comic Con, no?

Regardless, I'm looking forward to it!

Awesome! Any excuse to fly across the the country to NY. Sick of driving down south to Smog Town for Anime Expo. Driving 5 hours just to wait in long lines, with broken air conditioning, in scorching weather. No Thanks! Really wish Leftfield Media would create an Anime Con for SF.

Starting in 2010 the New York Anime Festival has been held with the New York Comic Con, bringing the two cultures together.

I'm definitely going to give Anime NYC a try next year.

New York Comic Con this year, for me, wasn't feeling too fresh and more like a slow-moving people mill. A narrower event focus should help that.

I have the same questions about the timing of the event as others have already posted, as AnimeNYC will be separated enough from NYCC that people will have a chance to go to both (which does little to relieve the crush at NYCC). More importantly though I wonder about presenters/exhibitors having to choose between one or the other, as NYCC is still larger, but AnimeNYC should bring more specifically-interested fans.

Of course, when one does this thing all the time, it's just another con on the schedule...
