Just one more step of censorship. Whats next? Can't say the word "Cunt" in a YouTube comment box? Can't use the word "black" or "white" must use the word "Person Of Color"? Pitty.

I wonder when Google will realize 1984 was not an instruction manual, given they're doing this and releasing the POS jigsaw AI.

I think it's obvious what everyone thinks. I saw that video a few days back. They had to disable the comments due to negativity, and I'm honestly surprised they haven't disabled the like / dislike option, given the overwhelming disdain for it.

They're essentially giving people an incentive to falsely report and flag, as if they didn't have one already. Youtube Red was one step towards the end, and this is only shoving YT further towards that cliff. I only home something like vimeo or vid.me picks up.

Somehow YouTube manages to think of even crazier ideas every year. I can't tell if these people are insane or if they're just rubbing it in everyone's faces that they can be a bad as they want and still be the number 1 website for watching videos.

I do have a YouTube account but I yet to fully use and upload videos on, this however does seem pretty Orwellian and has PC written all over it.

This is with out a doubt mass censorship and in the wrong hands it can be a disaster maybe even the death of YouTube as content creators will seek some other website were they can upload and monetize etc..

YouTube is no stranger to poor decision making so I'm not surprised at all.

If it does go down hill I personally use Cloud based services to upload Video content to show to my development buddies, YouTube came to mind because of it being free and my methods are not exactly cheap but again there is Vimeo.

..........Also there not HEROES there ZEROES...

It's their site so they can do what they want. I could care less and rarely watch YouTube anyway. Doesn't effect my enjoyment of random cute kitten videos.

Till someone from an extremist animal-rights group mass flags all kitten videos for promoting animal abuse due to some form of kooky logic.

Um considering they allow 13 year olds to moderate their site as part of their youtube heroes program (if parents allow and let's be honest google/youtube won't and can't check that), I can pretty much say there's gonna be lots of people trying to remove everything. Including your kitten videos

And you know there are a ton of poindexters going to line up and be on the heroes club. You have those Barnie Fife type dudes that eat this stuff up. They get a sense of empowerment and of course the snowflake Justice warriors.

I don't doubt that crunchyrolll has been modded by 13 year olds before

No one said anything regarding legality. They could take the whole site down tomorrow if they wanted. It's whether this sort of censorship is particularly acceptable, and most Youtube users have said in no uncertain terms "NO".

Sure it does, PETA considers pet ownership animal abuse. One day they could have a bunch of members go on a mass flagging spree for "animal cruelty". If the user isn't particularly active they may not contest this and it could be permanently removed. Thus, your selection of kitten videos would go down.
