This year's 44th issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine is revealing on September 28 that Rumiko Takahashi's RIN-NE (Kyōkai no Rinne) manga is getting a third television anime season that will premiere in spring 2017. The issue also reveals a key visual for the new season, and features comments from voice actress Marina Inoue (Sakura) and voice actor Kaito Ishikawa (Rinne).

Another season of Dullest Takahashi heroine ever, Sakura. It's not a bad show, but it really isn't Takahashi's best.

Yeah, I couldn't get into it. After some episodes it I just gave up. I really shouldn't had forced myself like that.

Great news indeed! Rinne is not like the crazy, hectic shows like Ranma or Inuyasha by a long shot. But somehow the shows are still funny enough to watch. Among the silly plots and characters there is always a hint of sadness and warmth in a cold world. I'll keep watching season 3 and beyond.

BTW, this visual (from the manga cover) spoils a future character and plot. I doubt she will appear in season 3 at all.
