Do the fans of certain communities for series or games or just anything scare you off because they are too extreme about it or maybe just straight cringey? For example, with anime we have a lot of awesome people in the community then we have people that kind of embarrass us as anime fans.

Yeah I get embarrassed because sometimes anime fans get cringy in public.

Of course not. If I like something then I like it and I don't care what anyone else does.

You'll always get some fans who are over the top because some people are just nuts.

It's like going shopping nowadays "May contain nuts"
"Yeah, fine, I don't care what the nuts do, give me the damn cake"

Nobody scares me off but some communities definitely creep me out like Jared Leto's little rabid cult the Echelon. I mean they call themselves "The Echelon" for crying out loud! What else do you need to know? Creepy fans for a creepy man. Not a fan of them or their twisted little leader.

Then we have Nambla, not sure if it's a community but.....ick!

Every group has it's jerks unfortunately. Even really great communities aren't immune to this.

Super moe fans scare the shit out of me, they are scarier than clowns!!

for me its not a fetish, I like making people happy and smile when I roleplay my character in mine,
I like getting hugs from kids at conventions and getting pictures taken, its fun

No one specific community, really.

However the very broad group of "MMO raiders" did turn me off of raiding while I was still playing MMOs. They always seemed so aggressive, petty, vitriolic, and unhelpful. So much so, that I just never wanted to even bother trying to get into the raiding scene.

But again, that's a very broad group. I don't think there's ever been one specific community that has turned me off of a game, show, series, etc.

The fursuit thing I kind of think looks fun. I wouldn't do it myself personally, just cause its too expensive, and probably not comfortable.

Anime isn't so bad. I'm not crazy about American comic book fandom. I find it super obnoxious when I hear about s***fits thrown around if the color of the hulk's underwear is wrong. It's quite sad to be fretting over things that matter little

Steven universe and Adventure time.

I've hard horror stories about how there community hates some artist and are just a lot of bullies if you don't do what they like.

Hell even the furries I know are more chill then those assholes.

Everybody in the anime community is cool. I'm just frightened that one day I might turn in to a huge anti social nerd because I'm the only one of my friends who actually watches anime.

Any fan of his (as in just him) are not part of the Echelon. That's the fanbase of his band, and the name came from their song Echelon. Specifically the lyrics "What's with the fascination with the Echelon?"

Yes, like the anime community because sometimes it can be cringe-inducing to the point of me being disgusted and taking a break. Fandoms too like the My Little Pony, Adventure Time, Sonic( Thank God that is over), and last but not least from recent times, Steven Universe. It can be to the point where I feel embarrassed for the one creating the perceived cringiness.
