What sports did you guys play in high school, and was your team any good?

This year I am running cross-country, am playing basketball, and am going to play tennis, but my school is pretty bad in every single sport.

Rugby and basketball. The basketball team was sort of average (to be expected when we didn't have a proper coach or anything and me and my mate basically ran it), but the rugby team was good. Like win national tournaments good. One of the lads plays for England now.

Volleyball; the team was bad. We lost on the first round; both years.

I was the only semi-decent player in the team, when it was my turn to serve, I helped the team win 2 sets after being 2 sets down. But we lost the point eventually, so I was no longer the server, and was out or something. And they lost the 5th set.

So annoying, was so close. But it wouldn't matter, we would lose the 2nd round anyway because everyone was so bad at it. I only wanted to win because I wanted to play more, losing meant no more practice or playing lol.

Basketball and Volleyball for me. We were pretty terrible at volleyball and stank up the court pretty much every time we stepped onto it. Basketball was much better and we ended up the best team in our league.. granted, it was a sort of B league but we were still pretty decent.

What made it better was that we were a normal anyone can attend comprehensive school and we used to beat the crap out of posh grammar schools who put a lot of effort and money into building the teams up. They hated us.

I didn't enjoy school well enough to voluntarily stay a couple extra hours everyday.

I played football, our school was good. Sort of like make the playoffs every year but never a championship. Kind of like the LA Clippers.

But our school were gods at swimming, water polo, cross country, and soccer. I guess we always had talented and hard working soccer players and cross country runners. Idk what was going on with water polo and swimming tho. Every year they just smashed anyone and everyone, no contest. Mind you this is Division 1 in a highly populated county. Those kids worked hard tho, in the pool before school at ~6, then either the girls or guys swim/polo teams practicing one after the other till ~8.

Oh man that breaks my heart since I'm a Clippers fan

Wow that's pretty neat though. My school doesn't even have a swim team or water polo team (we don't even have a pool), and I've never played water polo before.

Our football team has been beaten by our rival school for about 25 years in a row, but our Cross Country and Track team is still one of the best in our state. Some individual athletes even broke a couple national records. I myself wasn't stellar in cross country, but I think being able to run 8-15 miles at a race pace five days a week is an accomplishment in of itself.

I played soccer, basketball, and baseball in high school. My soccer team won back to back championships my junior and senior year, but my baseball and basketball teams were just average. Right now I'm playing soccer for my college, and also playing club baseball.
