didn't Nintendo released it when DS was already released..? there was basically no reason to get one by the time it was released.
except for collection purposes.

Had to look it up, since 2005 was not a good year for being aware of niche products. That thing is kind of useless, as it was incompatible with almost every Game Boy peripheral, and didn't have the backwards compatibility of the Game Boy Advance, which it was just a stripped down form of.

My cousin has one of those, even thought he took it apart and is in pieces now.

There have been a lot of handheld and console failures over the years. I remember a few years back ago my local Disc Replay stores always had those things in stock, people were always wanting to get rid of them. Now they're nowhere because everyone got rid of them and who knows where they went to or how many have broken or been forgotten in boxes or at the bottom of drawers. =P I kinda wish I had one just for the collector aspect of it, but maybe I'll come across one for a good value one day and I'll buy it.

I have a console that's super old that I recently managed to get again (my father threw the one we had out when I was a kid because it stopped working). I rarely ever see them being sold in game shops or anywhere, but I came across one in the back of a small shop earlier this year caked with dust and still in its' original box (albeit the box itself's top is torn on the corners all the way up). The shop owner didn't know at all what he had because it was marked almost 400 dollars cheaper than it sells for online and in any larger game shop. And it STILL WORKS, I consider myself EXTREMELY lucky. I legit got it for 150 dollars when it was going for 500+. The only time I've seen it since was in a much larger shop going for 550. It's called the Astrocade, and it's by Bally Midway (as in, they made a lot of retro gaming cabinets, HUGE DEAL). It's the ONLY console they made.

The game boy micro was definitely useless for the time it was released, although now it works as a very cute collectible, I can see myself buying one for the right price. I still wonder why someone would buy a micro when the DS was already out, besides of course collecting everything from nintendo. And it seems that nintendo didn't learn from that mistake because they did the same thing but with the wii, releasing the wii mini.

Hahah well if you're really into collecting stuff then I guess you need it , but if you already have a wii then the wii mini is absolutely pointless. It isn't backwards compatible with Gamecube games. It doesn't even connect to the internet
