How can a gorilla be triggering?
Unless you have been attacked by a gorilla its not going to be triggering, and the number of people who have would be so small it really does not matter.

And I was not aware that gorillas had such awful stereotypes about them

Political Correctness reaches an all time low. If one individual with an overactive imagination can possibly conceive a negative connotation from a word or image, than PC dictates that such words or images be banned.

If we follow this line of thought to its logical conclusion, then over time, we will be left with very few words that we can speak, and very few images that we can view.

We will all be reduced to using Newspeak to limit our communications, so that no Political Incorrectness can be perpetrated.

you realize this doesn't actually mean anything, right? that there isn't any sort of actual widespread anti-gorilla sentiment (aside from people being tired of fucking harambe memes), that there's no reason to believe this is an accurate representation of "how bad pc culture has gotten" except for your own desperate desire to believe stuff like this??

like . . . you're trying to spin this as "the pc court has officially decreed that the concept of gorillas is sexist and racist and has been banned everywhere forever" when it's actually just a thing some random idiot said once. you wouldn't even be aware of it if you didn't deliberately frequent news sites and stuff that love to spread bullshit like this for people like you to get way too worked up over. the entire news story basically exists as a joke, like "haha look at this weird thing someone said somewhere" and the chances of it actually affecting anyone are impossibly slim

has "political correctness" ever personally hurt you? has it had any tangible effect on your life beyond giving you random people to hate and vague concepts to whine about when you feel like being insufferable on the internet? i'm willing to bet it hasn't =o
