Let's get "scientific" about this:

Pigtails:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pigtail

https://www.google.com/search?q=pigtails&client=ubuntu&hs=iAX&channel=fs&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwixw_PioLbPAhXH8CYKHYrpB2UQ_AUICCgB&biw=1272&bih=876

Twintails:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pigtail

https://www.google.com/search?q=twintails+hair&client=ubuntu&channel=fs&biw=1272&bih=876&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiCjtOSorbPAhVEJCYKHdH4BPsQ_AUIBigB

As you can see, while pigtails and twintails are described a essentially being the same thing in the wikipedia article, they generated a different set of images when searched on Google for images. Although, to get the wikipedia article describing twintails, I had to use the search term, "twintails hair."

Yet, the two groups of images, essentially portrayed hair styles with two bunches of hair on either side of the head.

And what's wrong with using wikipedia? You learn a lot of good info from there, as long as you cross check, and look at other sources, too. Like any source, no matter where it's from, wikipedia has errors. Even the best text books from the best schools have errors in them. That's why you should always cross check everything.

I "cross checked" my wikipedia source, by "referencing" Google image searches. See? It was "scientific..."

Still 10 points from Griffendor.

If you do use wiki, you always quote the sources instead. My professors would take up to a letter grade off our papers for using wiki as a reference.

Yes, but better. Twintails are generally longer and attached to a more mature head.
