We already paid reparations for slavery. We paid for it in our blood.

How many soldiers died in the Civil War as compared to other American wars?[/b

Funny how there are more black slaves owned by blacks in Africa right now at this moment than in the entire history of the American slave trade.
Really makes you think.

Let's be fair, half of those people weren't even "Americans". I think. I am familiar with Civil War history, but statistics elude me.

Lets adjust some of those numbers.

WW 2 - 25.037.500
WW 1 - 9.448.000
Cival War - 750.000

But yeah, reparations not necessary.

thoughts?

I don't see mexico paying their people for their sex trafficking issue they currently have

or Italy paying their people for all the slaves the romans had

why cant we just let things go

what is going on today is not due to slavery, slavery, in the sense in America that they are talking about, is gone

Short answer: No, obviously not.

Long answer: The UN has no say in this. They didn't exist without the US and laws are not retroactive for this exact reason. You cannot find someone guilty of something that is illegal today when the actions took place in the past while it was not illegal. As has been said so many times before, the US did not start slavery, they ended it. And as far as reparations go, the US has paid far too much as it is for the wrong reasons. Giving in to these terrorists that lie about police killings to justify hate speech and rioting would just be another wrong reason.

Sure, because it's awfully convenient for scapegoats to pick up the tab right? Right? Right?

In a honesty, I view this sort of thing as an abhorrent abuse of the concept of reparations.
