Episode 11

Great to see Starish back together as they will continue to press on with the limited time they have as a group. But now, Heavens is in a big crisis thanks to Raging as she shows just how big of an asshole he is. Raging wanted Heavens to sabotage Starish, but nobody was on board with the idea, so he decides that they are just useless, throwaway pawns for his revenge towards Shining. Just when it looked like Heavens was not going to be performing, all it took was some love from Haruka through her lyrics as Starish delivered them in dramatic fashion. Starish sure was awesome there letting Heavens know that music is all about themselves and their fans, and not a tool for revenge with the way Raging sees them.

Episode 12

The time has come for the opening act of SSS to be decided, but Heavens is nowhere to be found as it was announced that their performance has been cancelled. But in dramatic fashion, here they are as Raging tried to keep them off stage, but nothing was going to stop them from coming, not when Quartet Night and Starish refuses to perform without them. In your face, Raging. So with that, Quartet Night and Heavens both have their performances, and they are very impressive. Next up, Starish performs in the finale to decide once and for all which band opens SSS.

Episode 13 (Finale)

Now Starish goes on stage, and their song is just amazing. I love how their song got the crowd so super-psyched up, more so than Quartet Night and Heavens, so of course they deserved to win the right to open SSS. Quite an inspirational performance that was seeing that it made Raging realize that he was going about beating Shining the wrong way and that while love may be dead, it can always be reborn. And then that song with all three bands singing the ending is just priceless. The choreography wasn't anything special, but the energy from the lyrics is.

So with that, this season is finished, and based on the ending eyecatch there's more coming. Whether it is a season 5 or a movie remains to be seen.

Final Thoughts

While this season is better than the third that was just a rinse-and-repeat approach that ended with a cliffhanger that was uncalled for, this one still falls short of the first two seasons that are still better than this season. I like that the show changed things up with the idol duo of the week segment by having the last one spanning two episodes and making it a really dark story. The music is better this season, and the character development for the Starish guys is solidly done given the format of this show. That said, the one thing this season did that I didn't like is that Heavens didn't get enough attention in the duo of the week segment as the Starish performer got the lion's share of the attention while the Heavens performer was just there to push his development forward. But in all, it's a good season, just not the best season.
