Yes, he's such a cutie. We named him Nini because we thought it was a girl (i think he heard we wouldn't adopt him if he was male so he hide his nuts and then after 2 months we realized it was male so as punishment we left him that name)

Why not? They relief your stress somehow and are good companions.

Talk to my pets? Hell I'll sing stupid songs to my dog, and have somewhat one-sided conversations about Chairman Mao with one of my cats. (She's apparently a massive fan, seeing as she goes around calling out his name constantly.)

But I'm also eccentric. So there's that.

Of course I do. Pets are people, too.

if my cat is spazzing, and I pick him up, lay him on his back in my arms and sing lullabies, he calms down lol

I start off with "Hi ______," in a goo goo ga ga baby voice, then usually "wut u do?" (for "what are you doing?"). If I get a response, and they start getting excited, I'll usually start playing and resorting to goo goo ga ga baby voice V2, which is just the same voice but louder, and with a growl-like overtone.

If I don't get a response from them because they're tired, I'll usually just go "awww, ______" and repeat their names a few times. Then I'll usually start to pet them and sing a song in goo goo ga ga baby voice with lyrics that only include their name and "you are a baby (dog's name)". All of my dogs like being held in baby fashion, which is why I call them babies.

Sometimes I'll just call them handsome or pretty, and that they're the prettiest (whatever their name is) in the world. I don't really do that that much, though.

I don't talk to them in a normal voice unless commanding them, and I dont say random things to them, really.

"Hey sweetie, little cutie, golden apple", etc are the names I call my cat Keiko. Yes, I name after Yuyu Hakusho.

As for my dog I usually mock him or call him good oldie dog. (He's 12 years old).

And as everybody said: who doesn't tak to their animals?
