Ecchi, hands down ecchi, i don't see what is attractive about GG cup size breasts, or random ass panty shots in the middle of what is supposed to be a serious situation(I'm looking at you HOTD).

Never been into mecha which is odd because I really like the designs of most mechs.

Harem/reverse harem. A lot of them are just so formulaic, and the entire concept just feels artificial and fake to me.

Okay, I'll give my dislikes while staying positive. (huh?)

I positively dislike:

1)Gender-benders (he's a she or she's a he).

2) Stuff that's a downer all the way through and you know the ending is really going to suck. (Looking at you, Your Lie In April).

3) Mechas. If it's a really good story and has good characters that happens to have giant robots, it might be okay, but most of them seem to be all about the robots.

4) Gangster-era stuff. Not in American media and especially not in Japanese. No interest in that time period at all.

same as anything else. horror and tragedy are always my two least favorite genres.

Whatever's popular.

that's not a genre son and to miss out on a potentially good show just because it is popular is... silly. but to each his own

Sorry.

Actually, i don't think i could say that i hate any particular genre of show. Either i've found one or more in a genre that i generally dislike which i find interesting, or i haven't really watched any shows of a particular genre.

I will say the idea of gundam doesn't particularly interest me, but i haven't watched a lot of it anyways. Other than that, just any long anime in particular i don't care for all that much. A lot of lengthy shows come from the shounen genre, but again i can't say that i hate it at all. I can only hate an individual anime, i can't really speak for any entire genre

If they stopped making anime tomorrow and I was working through the library of all existing titles, I have no doubt that BL titles would be at the bottom of my "to watch" list. Any season I see one of these, I say "Not for me" and move on. Frankly, I have my doubts I would view many of these even if there were little else to view.

Above that would probably be sports anime. I watched them before, but beyond the characters themselves, they hold no interest for me. (As you might guess, I have no interest in real sports, either). At least if I had an excess of time I would probably watch many of these, as I sometimes did in earlier days when I had access to a smaller selection of anime.

I don't waste time declaring that stuff I don't like shouldn't exist. Doing so is the same as giving permission for someone else to declare the same for something I like that they don't.

Further up from the bottom of my "to watch" list would probably be reverse harems. Again, not something I wouldn't watch, and something I have watched in the past. This is more of a case of "Not enough time, so something has to give".

Horror. I understand some people like to be scared - so it's their thing. For me, though, even if I don't find it scary, I still find it stupid/pointless/worthless. If I'm going to watch something scary, I want it to have at least some realism, an intriguing catch, and a plot line that ultimately results in a pleasant resolution. Perhaps that's why I enjoyed Steins;Gate so much, in spite of it containing some... I'll say "ugly"... moments.

Depending on details within each individual series, it'd bounce between either ecchi or harem. Both have frustrations that come with them and both show little respect toward female characters (in the first they're usually reduced to just eye candy and in the latter they all mysteriously are infatuated with some dude and are never allowed to move to/even notice a better alternative). Though I think ecchi is possibly the one that comes up more to me.

It's a tie between BL and horror for me. BL is just something I've never been into and if I want to be spooked then I'll play a horror game. The only thing a horror anime can do to scare me is create an incredibly spooky atmosphere or jump scare me. Sadly, these two things happen often in most horror games regardless.

reverse harems, BL, and sports anime

Sports anime can be a bit iffy. I like Aokana a lot but ones that focus on sports that I already follow irl are a huge no.
