I got my job from a very good friend of mine.
I work at 2 container parks where I maintain, repair/upgrade and modify shipping containers. I am also a surveyor, where I inspect and quote shipping containers. I'm kind of all over the place! It depends where my boss needs me, whether it's repairing or surveying.

It's a good job, lots of variety! You find some weird and interesting things surveying occasionally. One day I was surveying a shipping container, and I came across a live snake. The container had to be locked up right away and sent to quarantine. The snake catcher got called in and the snake was identified as a green tree viper from China. I got pretty close to it before I noticed what it was. I was pretty lucky not to get bitten!

Few weeks ago, I saw a girl make a post about job openings at the restaurant on FaceBook on Sunday, went up to the place and put in a application Monday, got called Wednesday, and interviewed and hired on Thursday. My job, a cashier at Dairy queen and it's my first job. Something interesting of note, my sisters were hired on at the same place at the same time and that was the day before I was hired.

I'm a performance and success coach.

That is a fancy bullshit way of saying I am kind of smart and good at solving problems, so I charge people hundreds of dollars an hour to talk to me on the phone. I don't need to work very much; just two or three hours a day, two or three days a week.

I got this job by spending thirty years working in corporate America, learning what challenges small businesses face and staying on top of how to best surmount those obstacles. Now I have a Google Voice number and a PayPal account, and I tell people to put money in one and call me on the other. That is literally it.

Since almost everyone needs the same advice on the same things, I am in the process of building an automated system that will just take people's money and send them the advice. Then I won't have to "work" at all.

Wal-Mart.... and I ended up there because I was in desperate need of a job while I was in school and they were hiring at the time.

Not a place I plan on staying for much longer though...... almost 4 years now and that is more than enough for me lol

My dad knows everyone and my educational background is impressive to say the least so I made the only logical choice and decided to work in retail pisses my dad off beyond reason and I love it. I'm just smart enough to do the bare minumum I mean why go through all the training to become a doctor or lawyer when a quite job at a Gamestop dealing with a bunch of shy nerds is so much easier I don't ask for alot and living paycheck to paycheck is fine by me because I can manage my money and make smart investments.

I'm what my company calls an ADS driver, Which stands for Attended Donation Station driver.

Basically every work day (4 days a week 10 hours days+overtime) I'm scheduled a different station and Truck (Box truck, or StepVan btw), sometimes I'm lucky, or unlucky I guess depending on location/Truck and get the same area and truck.

What I do when I get to my area is simple, I open the back of my truck put out my sign in the designated area. And........Wait for people to come to me to give donations. Some days are slow and I only see 3-5 people max and only get 5-10%, during my down time I just sit and read manga or play games on my 'New' 3DS XL. Other days are one nearly every 15-20 minutes, I could be starting a 0% and come back with 25-50%.

And once or twice a week I unload a truck at our drop off sites.

My job is "easy" but also exhausting as there is quite a bit of lifting and tossing involved, and you also need to know how to (or learn to) stack a truck well, so its easier for whoever has to unload it. (it may or may not be you).

How I got the job was simple, my brother told me they had an opening, he gave them some background about me, and the interview was basally.

"Can you handle 10 hour days?" "Have you Driven Box trucks before?" "Can you handle large amounts of overtime?" "Can you lift 50-60lbs without help?" Welcome aboard.

I'm an Applications Engineer and I got my job while I was a Sophomore in college. I interned at the place I work now and got promoted to Applications Engineer once I graduated. Interning at a place is a really good way to get a job in college. Don't wait until you graduate to look for a job or intern position, do it while you are half-way through college. Interning is a way for you and the company to see if you are a good fit for the company. If you fit well, you will quickly be hired.

I was accepted into an internship within my college program as a security guard. Not what I am going for as a career choice, but it will look good when I get out of college. The internship offers paid training, which I will need for what I want to become.

Started at a temp agency. the major mortgage company that I work for only starts with temps because the turnover rate is so high. I did well so they hired me full time on the phones. Then I got lucky and moved over to the clerical team (mail/fax/email behind the scenes without having to be on the phones). Tedious work, good pay and benefits. Took me two years of job hunting and part time retail when I returned to Maryland before landing this one. Sad(or glad) to say I'm not leaving to pursue and new ventures anytime soon.
