Pedobear was originally an asian mascot of some kind named akuma. People on 4chan thought he looked incredibly creepy so they made him into a pedophile. It is a form of absurdest humor in which an animal that has no sexual desires for humans is anthropomorphised to take on negative human characteristics. Pedobear and Pedo Bear are not separate bears. Pedobear quickly became one the most popular memes on 4chan.

Things typically go this way:

Someone requests some CP (child porn) on a thread.
Someone else posts a picture of Pedobear saying "hai gais!" showing his enthusiasm
Someone then posts this picture:

This is Captain Picard (CP gettit?)
Pedobear then gets pissed off feeling he was gyped.

its really funny. Of course, things like that wouldn't happen on CR because no one requests CP evar.

Sorry, but I agree. Pedophilia is a horrifying/disgusting crime that should not be tolerated. It shouldn't be dismissed as something that's not-that-big-a-deal.
