Some of the Studio Ghibli films have a similar atmosphere, such as Ocean Waves and From Up On Poppy Hill.

The Clannad movie is quite good: romance, drama, some comedy, some tragedy. Not as much of a supernatural element as the VN or TV show, and it ends much differently than either.
