It would appear that Amazon has implemented stricter requirements, for app compatibility with their proprietary altered android version OS, to be included in their appstore now, thus essentially making them require separate programming just for those devices.

Blame Amazon for running an altered OS instead of a native Android one, not CR for not wanting to have yet another separate family of devices to support separately. It's also basically the reason you get blocked from installing any other Google Play apps on it, either.

Having deviant proprietary android versions, (especially for their older tables that stop being updated past a certain age) is just one of the reasons why I eventually gave up and installed a more generic cyanogenmod (5.1 lolipop) version on mine, and will never buy another Kindle tablet for any reason. You don't need an actual Kindle to get all the Amazon functionality, they have generic Android APP versions for everything they offer as a service (except perhaps the lending library).

Thank you . I wasn't blaming anyone just trying to figure out why and now I can go to Amazon and ask them to see if they will fix the problem. Thanks again for your other advice too.. I will look in to it as well.

I don't know if this will help your case or not but I'm hoping it will.

I recently bought the new Kindle Fire 7" and you can add google play and all the google framework stuff to the kindle with out root. (I think older generations need root for this, so I'm hoping yours is a newer generation) And from there you can download the Crunchyroll Apps from the google playstore.

I used this video when I installed Google Play on my new kindle.

Hope this was helpful.
