Episode 1

Just like with how Strike Witches began, the MC who is woefully lacking in practical combat skills joins a strike unit, but the way it happens is different. War came to Yoshioka, but here Hikari gets deployed to where the war is going on, although she had to prove her worth in order to fight. So she takes the exam with Misumi where it seemed a foregone conclusion that Hikari would flunk, but when the rain comes, that's when Hikari's willpower makes a difference with Misumi crashing and Hikari saving her. The beginning of Strike Witches was filled with ass shots and fanservice overload, but here it takes a backseat in a way. An decent start to this show, and it will be interesting to see how Hikari fits in with the Brave Witches.

The CGI could use some touching up, but the rest of the animation was solid and crisp, and despite the first episode being almost exactly how Strike Witches 1 and 2 opened up, it was different enough for it to not feel too similar and be boring.

Looking forward to the next one, Strike Witches is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine (though really any cute girls + WW2 thing is), I need some more, uh, Messerschmitts.

Episode 1

We have our main girl Hikari not being that good controlling her magic and strike unit. That's not stopping her from trying to become a great witch like her sister the hero of Sasebo. Hearing that her sister is coming hone she is excited to welcome her home but that night her sister tells her she's being deployed to Europe. The next day a announcement for any volunteers to go to Europe as witches are need for the next mission. Misumi The top first year volunteers and so does Hikari as this is a chance to go with her sister. To settle who would go they have a match and Misumi at first has the upper hand but once it's starts to rain Hikari comes back. As they reach the finish line they get into a accident and Misumi almost drowns but Hikari is able to save her. Due to this they both don't pass but somehow Hikari gets a letter telling her she did.

I gotta admit, this was super average. Izetta is blowing the socks off this show currently.

I enjoyed the first episode, the Animation isn't perfect but still good in my opinion. And like other people are saying it does start off very similar to strike Witches 1 and 2, but there are some changes so it doesn't feel exactly the same. Also the art is good, and improved from the original Strike Witches. I'm excited to get more of the Strike Witches universe. If your a fan of the original or if you've never seen it you should check out Brave witches. I mean come on why wouldn't you watch it, it's got cute girls in it. Also the WW2 feel is always cool.

I agree completely. But why a "guilty pleasure". Nothing guilty about Cute Girls + WW2, lol.

Not really sure where I stand on this one yet. The cute girls as weapons of war thing just doesn't do it for me, and the plane legs are just plain stupid, but the art is nice and the characters are likable. I guess the question at this point is if the negatives which obviously aren't going away are going to be outweighed by the strengths the show does have.

I like Hikari's determination to win, and her overall character design. Them bath scenes are starting up again, a classic of Strike Witches. Not that I'm complaining. <3
