Didn't know what to expect when I started the anime tbh, but I like to give sports animes a chance. The first episode was really great; the skating animation was amazing, some good comedy which i think every sports anime needs and pretty great characters. I can't wait to see where this anime is heading!

It's amazing how I always end up liking more the shows I barely even feel like giving a try, than those i follow even for months before...good thing i always watch everything that comes out.
This and Flip Flappers are up there in my favorite list for this season so far

I appreciate that they show figure skating at this level is incredibly hard and requires insane sacrifices. After five years Yuri has little to show for it all, while back at home his childhood crush got maried and got three kids.

It's not about some teenage prodigy who becomes a world champion after a few weeks of training.

I watched it on the day it premiere and I instantly fall in love with it. The writing is point-on, the characterization of Yuri is realistic and heartwarming, the characters are interesting, the movement of the characters skating are beautifully animated and the animation is well-done. Usually, I'm not fond of sporting anime, but Yuri on Ice makes me change my mind.

Also, I ship Yuri and Victor because of fanservice and Yuri worshipping Victor. How can you not detect the yaoi-ness in Yuri and Victor?

I give it a 9.5/10

To his childhood BULLY no less. And the dog he named after his idol died. Must really suck to be Yuri.

The animation was beautiful as was the Victor guy. The whole questioning-your-career-path motif kind of reminds me of Barakamon a little bit but I assume there will be actual competitions and such later on.

So I'm not the only one totally hyped about this show and eagerly awaiting the next episode then? Good. I totally wasn't expecting that twist at the end. I watched that fist episode and immediately proceeded to show off the opening to my mom and my sister, cause it's just so great in so many ways. My sister ended up watching the whole episode

Episode 2

Now that Victor has arrived, the bromance, er, player-coach relationship begins. Of course, he has quite a long way back seeing that he's woefully out of shape. Victor's appearance has turned the town into a media hotbed, and Yuri P. is none too pleased about it so he heads over to Hasetsu himself where Victor has specially choreographed routines for both Yuris using the same song. So the two Yuris have a skateoff. That was pretty funny to see Victor getting all jovial there, and it is great. Next time, it's the skateoff as Yuri wants to have port cutlets with Victor, and Yurio wants Victor to ditch Yuri and return to Russia.

Episode 2

Some of the comedy and yaoi undertones bother me, but it doesn't take away the potential of this series.

Looks like the competition between both Yuri's is set in motion, so I look forward to increase in quality and animation soon!

Another great episode. I can't help but like Victor because of the personality he shows. Like he is really normal to talk to despite being an international celebrity. Of course, I like how he wants to test Yuri and Yuuri of their abilities by making them take risks.

Yuri Plisetsky has quite an intimidating presence in the show as well. He already establishes a rivalry with Yuuri and I'm really interested to see how far this goes. Would like to know more about his past as well.

The comedy is still pretty funny to watch with the character reactions.

Hmm..... this'll be interesting..... Yuuri vs Yurio. XD

And just by lookin' at Viktor's reaction after hearing Yuuri's answer towards the latter, you sure can tell which outcome he'd prefer.

Once again, awesome episode.
