This kinda reminds me from Trigger's visual style. It looks bit like it. Anyway, looks interesting. Let's see how it turns out.

That was just fun to watch ( so much so I watched it twice) hopefully it keeps it up. The scenes with Paprika running to get the glasses were great as others have mentioned I got a FLCL vibe like when Haruko was in the bunny girl outfit(ep5) riding her guitar like a surfboard, then running down the barrel of the giant gun while it was moving.

Ep. 1

Definitely had to get used to its particular style but once I did its like Miyazaki got together with Trigger and Huke (Black Rock Shooter); and I love it. Really liking that more of f/f shows are coming out, now gotta hope they all stay the course and don't veer off =.=

Flip Flappers EP 1“Pure Input”

Very cool similiar to Kyousougiga ( The rabbit in the ED ) and especially FLCL with Papika surfing up to the snow monster like Haruko ( FLCL ) with Guitar then TT-392 reminds me of Canti ( FLCL )

Episode 2

Papika comes to school as she needs Cocona to join in on her journey to collect fragments. But Cocona wants no part of this mess, so she tries to ditch her, but can't quite do it while she finds Uexkull in her bag. So into another dimension they go where the two grow bunny ears and tail to find Uexkull, and Cocona finds another one of those rocks, and they get themselves in a lot of danger in the process. So they manage to get out after nearly burning up and getting crushed on the way to the exit. So those two head over to FlipFlap where Dr. Salt is looking to liberate the world they were in, Pure Illusion. That was pretty much more of the same from the first episode, except the end part where a story is finally being built. Let's see how things build from this as so far it has been just craziness.

Episode 2

I smiled once again.

I really feel like I haven't seen anything like this in this decade of anime besides Space Dandy. Everything looks magical and out-of-this-world. There is some melodrama between Cocona and Papika that might potentially bring along more characters, so story is doing okay.

I do worry it might become formulaic with whacky adventure of the episode, but perhaps they'll mix it up going forward! Stuff like this makes me miss Shinichiro Watanabe though!

Episode 2

I enjoyed this episode much more than I did the previous even though they're very similar conceptually. The first half or 1/3 wasn't very interesting, but realistically speaking, it needed to happen since Cocona and Papika's personalities often clash. Plus, Papika understanding how Cocona felt in the end just built off that first part of the episode, making them closer.

I really liked the idea of how the girls got sent to Pure Illusion this episode. It was simple, but clever. Also liked how the dimension didn't just change the girls, but the pet as well.

I've only been watching simulcasts since Winter of 2014, so it may not mean much, but I think this series is the first simulcast I've watched with this kind of top quality art and animation, along with a unique, varied aesthetic (I definitely missed out on some series though). It's nice to look forward to something like this every week.

Papika is just too damn adorable.

Outfits gave me some Alice in Wonderland vibes.

This show has to have some of the best animation I've seen in a while. It makes me much more aware how many shows seem to cut corners when it comes to animating and it results in this sort of stagnant or rather static kind of feeling, whereas everything in this show feels so alive. It would be great to see this kind of quality become more prevalent in the industry.

I thought I was candy flipping on this episode but it was still fun. Haha who in the world wears a magical girl outfit as a uniform to school.

Still loving this show if only thanks to the visual appeal. The Alice in Wonderland vibes in this episode are very fitting as both Alice and Flip Flappers are (as far as I can see so far) stories that run on nonsense. It's hard to really summarize the plot outside of ''young girl falls into a weird world''. The appeal comes from how much the writers can stretch the limit of their imagination.

I don't think I'll ever skip the ED. I know I've already shared how much I love it after the first episode but it needs to be said again.

I've to say that I preferred the first world to this bunny one; but the colors and art made up for it.
Dr. Salty's organization is definitely fishy, wonder if these fragments they collect will end up becoming something like a philosofer's stone.
"Liberating the Pure Illusion world" yeah right with that expression..
