Face off of the century

The next episode is looking very Mad Max.

This anime is one of the more promising ones of this season. I really like the art style, sort of triggeresque. The plot seems decent, had a nice progression at least.

Papika was definitely a little overly annoying this episode and it didn't have the strange cohesion that the first episode did for me. Hopefully the next episode, which looks very Mad Max inspired, returns the series to the form it had in it's debut.

I love it, almost everything can be interpreted to have some meaning towards themes and exploration.

Seriously this show is a pure FUN LSD TRIP, so so good. Lol love how Trigger it is, but not trigger at the same time xD. some staff of Trigger has to have influenced this in some way.

Its been a while, I feel so, Idk what the word is, uplifted? from a art style, that its just so worth the experience, its very reminiscent of the same way I felt watching KSGG. Gah could watch the ED nonstop. Ep 2s of fall are still on a major roll.

Hey... anyone else notice the bunny thing's name, Uexkull? ? I looked it up shortly after watching.

Looks like this show may be going interesting places... I'm not convinced at this point that this is 100% nonsense. Biosemiotics are totally in line with all of this bizarre sh... stuff.

Also, did anyone else pick up a vibe of something like 'compassion' (or maybe empathy or sympathy?) being the theme of episode 2's "trip"? The rabbit ears don't seem to be there just for cuteness, it looks like the girls' perceptions and sense of reality are overlapping somehow with Uexkull's, and his with theirs. So not only is Papika faced with learning the reality of 'death', but is also subtly faced with the reality of how other beings feel and perceive the world. Being trapped in a place with bizarre machinery and tubing, and some kind of terrifying whirling canister-shaped room seems to totally match the possible or probable sensations of Uexkull getting sucked into the vacuum-thing. (Makes me look back with a little guilt on every time I sucked up a bug with the vacuum cleaner...)

Oh... and the scene where Papika seemed to react strongly to the smell of the nurse's room at the school? She seemed almost more bothered by something about the smell of it than the actual door.

Neat, I was going to look that, but the rest of the show distracted me, someone needs to do a blog about this show, I know rewatching it I'm still missing stuff. And yeah something is up with all the sniffing in this show. Also why was Paprika an amorphous blob at first...hmm so much going on.

-Debatable plot-points, demonstrated undertone's- Reading's & Reply's -please; I'd very much like to know what all/any other thoughts / necessary contributions, you may have!!! ~~Arigatōgozaimashita!!~~

So, I see a few noting the "Alice in Wonderland" vibe, that this portrays. I couldn't agree more. That, along with many other "drug induced" "trips" to the other world, "Pure Illusion", are what stick out the most to me.

Others, seeing how each time so far -entering 'Pure Illusion' is demonstrated by the girls falling "down the rabbit-hole". Just as well, upon exit [again, so far] each girl has expressed concern for the other -post adventure as, "I was scared you were going to die".

There's much more, but I'll leave it to you, may you feel similar of the undertones represented throughout the show.. i.e. - Papika recruits Cocona per their "job without pay" in-order to, via Dr. Salt, "Liberate" Pure Illusion (the world experienced during the [girls] "trip".

Oh also, another side-note for this post.. The fact that just after being made known that they "brought back" the [crazy-looking 'rock'-gem] fragment in Ep. 1(mentioned as well in Ep. 2 (seemingly playing quite an important object toward the main plot (supposedly, the key toward accessing some 'holy grail' of sorts)), the girls get mugged by mysterious [portrayed as robots] 'thugs', whom end the episode with a cliff-hanger by 'abducting' Cocona, deeming her unconscious, via [what's recognizable as] Chloroform.

So, very interesting -to say the least. I'll leave the rest to you and your own personal perspective and imaginations.
All-in-all, LOVE-ing this show; very much anticipating more to come!!!!! ( =

This plot's pacing structure seems off, but the adventures are fun and the animation is great.

So this show has now gone from Hanna Barbera meets FLCL in the 80s to...Alice in Wonderland meets Toy Story 3 and a Tom Petty music video and stays super cute? I ain't even mad? I just hope Sentai gives this possible future classic a proper release...even if the dub sucks
