Girlish Number EP 2 "A Cheeky Chitose and a Soundless Scream'

EP 2 was even harsher with Prod CMt Fightung ovet the charachter and THE PV being more important than the anime. Chitose is over cool. Then she finds out it is a harem . Then they find out they all have to form a Unit . The Cinderlla Girls homage!

Okay, this is really bugging me, but does anybody know if the PV for the LN adaptation in the show was supposed to be good or not? I know they show the audience cheering, but if there's one thing I've learned from going to concerts for the last 6 years, it's that fans of an established brand will cheer for almost anything, at first anyway. The animation was just so dull with barely any backgrounds, and the artstyle was flat as paper with some of the least expressive facial animation in anime that I have seen in recent memory. This whole thing along with the behind the scenes stuff we're shown leads me to believe that the PV wasnt actually supposed to look good, but nobody mentions its quality afterw it's shown. I know this gripe is probably the most pedantic one I have ever made but someone please tell me, it's confusing the hell out of me.

Ah cool. Thank you. I just think its so weird that they would do that and never comment on it. Oh well, might happen next episode.

Well they kind of did foreshadow that it was gonna be bad before hand because the author didn't agree with the character designs and they pushed that back, but they needed a PV for the event but had no character designs to go with that so they ended up rushing everything thus the quality of the PV.

They did comment that it was bad. We know the author implied concern over character designs and there was indication that the studio overpaid for the PV despite the quality being shitty. .

The PV also lampshaded most of the isekai and overall Ln adaptation tropes down to insert songs and hot springs stuff. The punchline is that even though the PV Is obviously bad, the otaku still bought into it.

And the show will most likely be even worse quality.

the producers knew the designs were completely off, but they went ahead with the pv anyway.
(they were discussing how even the original creator disliked the character designs before discussing about making a pv)
from the perspective of someone inside the anime, it was not intentional, but it just happened that they didn't have the time, nor cared enough to make it decent, knowing fully well that the otaku would like it regardless
from the perspective of someone watching the actual show, yes it was intentional - it basically presents in a humorous way the state of the current anime industry.

I get that but it just kinda confused me that the last opinion we get from it within the episode is a crowd of cheering screaming fans. You'd think that one of the stars of the show would at least comment on it. Oh well, either way I'm sure the aftermath will be put much more in focus next episode.

Episode 2

Chitose finally broke through, and now she is being asked to sing the ending theme song for the show Millennium Princess x Kowloon Overload alongside Yae and Koto, who are terrible at singing. It wouldn't be much of a deal if it was just singing in the studio, but they have to go on stage to give a live performance. And now, the girls are facing yet another setback on the production side of things. That PV sure did reflect the reality of the industry seeing that the animation quality is shit and these seiyuus are being used to sing the theme song in a cost-cutting move. That was a rather meh episode up until the PV that shed some ugly truths about the industry as these girls are just trying to break in, and all of the sudden problems elsewhere are the last things they need.

Lol, that PV parody!

Characters are so cynical and I like how this show brings out the bad side of the industry.
