Well, the thing about buying somebody drinks, is it gets them drunk. And when people are drunk, it is much easier to hook up, and so on. You don't buy someone a drink because you are being kind People aren't actually that kind, but I do agree that I wish people were that kind and I do think it would be a cool thing, except that I don't really like books.

You have an avatar of Meliodas. Have you not read the manga then?

Hmm, well, I haven't really played much at all recently. But I'll still say yes, since I've loved video games for my whole life up til now, and I'll probably get back into playing them.

Honestly, this kind of thing would be a turn-off, to me, just as the drink thing is. Admittedly, however, there's less potential danger, regarding books. Never heard of "spiked novels" being a thing. Still, I'm pretty unapproachable, and I feel that my book preferences would reveal more than I want to strangers.

I suppose that the main reason why a "buy a would-be date a book" scenario isn't popular because, simply, people don't normally go to bookstores with the intention of hooking up.

No, I just watched the anime a couple of days ago. I've tried reading manga, but I just can't do it. It might be different for SoL manga, I haven't tried that. But manga is even worse than real books for me, I just don't really ever get what is going on. The only manga I have read a significant amount of is TWGOK, and that is just because I pretty much had to, to fully understand the anime.

Well wouldn't it nice to have someone pretty and sweet girl strike up a conversation with you and offer to buy a video game for you?

Well yeah, I said I agreed with you. It's just that people aren't actually that kind, and because of that, I would be really freakin suspicious if that happened.

I thought it would be a kind gesture and a change from the everyday.

If you like it-- Like it; however, these sort of things aren't one-size-fits-all. You know that, I imagine.

Actually, I remember once I went to a Barnes & Noble, and was about to pay for about 8 textbooks, and the studio manager that I was doing an internship for happened to pay for it when he saw me.

Saved me like $500-$600
