The most likely countries to grant some visas would probably be our closest military and cultural allies: Australia, UK, Canada, etc., but there are 300 million of us, far too many for any one country or even 5 countries to accept.

Therefore, better have some special skills or money to be one of the lucky ones who could escape.

most likely no one would take us since the rest of the world thinks we are fat useless eaters that don't benefit society anyway.

Hmmm, I don't know about that, depends where you are. When I was in Colombia, people only said good things about the US, guess it varies by region.

Also, a lot of time people have nothing against Americans, but rather our government. Considering that I agree that we are governed by incompetent morons, it's not much of a problem

who would take us in? mexico.

after we 'find' 'evidence' of 'WMD' in mexico and rampant terrorism by the (insert group) and we 'liberate' the country. it will be just like iraq, only with immagrants. i mean, hell, we did the same exact thing to hawaii a hundred years ago.

If say, the cause is war or terrorism, I'm sure The North Atlantic Treaty Organization countries will be "obliged" to take us in or help out but y'know they'll really just feelsbad af and help regardless.

If say, the cause is Godzilla vs Mothra vs MUTO vs dragon kaiju i forget the name of, I'm sure a lot of countries would be pretty sympathetic.

I would understand India being like "Sorry, we literally can't." and China despite being the largest country, it has 1/6 of Earth's population and is like ~1/3 uninhabitable desert and i don't like the heat.

It would be foolish for a country to just accept a million immigrants on the spot, no matter where they're from: it'd be a very large cultural, ideological, and material strain. Realist international relations theory so dictates. Thus I don't think Canada, Australia, or the UK would take all that many immigrants - unless the U.S. forced them to. And it could, though perhaps the conditions that required a mass exodus from the U.S. might make that a little more difficult.

I can't imagine anything that could cause such a mass exodus other than the Yellowstone caldera erupting. Or I guess a big meteor.

I suppose you're asking this to parallel the situation with the refugees in Syria. As a political realist, I really don't think it wise for any country to accept the refugees: no country wants to have to expend so much effort and put itself in a weakened state in order to take in more people. Even a place as idealist as Europe is realizing it's overextending here. Unless taking in refugees somehow imparts a strategic advantage, I think the smartest thing a nation can do here is avoid responsibility for the situation as much as possible - i.e., just let all the refugees sit where they are without helping them. Now, that's harsh - evil, even. But it's the path of least resistance. I kind of doubt that any country has the wealth and technology just to absorb all the refugees with little trouble or work - even the U.S. I'd like that to be the case, but I don't think it is. Though I'm a theorist, so what do I know.
