Episode 4

Hina has feelings for a baseball player in Takahashi, going for as to make lunch for him, and doing an awful job in doing so, but it fails big time. Just when it was about to be tossed out, Rei steps in to save it and eat it together, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Then Harunobu comes over to hand out with Rei, and Momo sees him as Bodoro, who is an fat cat in an anime. So Harunobu comes to the house to get to know the sisters, while Hanaoka also drops by. That was great to see Rei getting along with the sisters better there. Hina was pretty cute when she's all desperate there, but in the end she has a lot to learn about cooking as well as how to approach other boys.

Episode 4

Oh, Akari and your obsession to nurture people.

I am loving how this series is attempting to make these characters human by having them worry about everyday things. A nice blend of comedy and animation also helps with this too.

Of course, there is also that flashback concerning Rei and a woman. Looks like there are more to the characters than meets the eye!

Momo thought Rei was her brother lol. Akari went from taking in stray cats to taking in stray teenagers.

So, Akari wants to make everybody fluffy and soft . I kind of understand her ("fluffy"animals are best animals).

Episode 1-4

It's beautiful *_* .
The best thing about it is how they tell the story. The way they combine the stunning animation, the well written monologues & dialogues and the music is fantastic.

Episode 4:

That was a very emotional episode, poor Hinata, she needed a hug.

BUT...

L M F A O!!... -R.I.P. Cats-. October 29, 2016...
Seems like Hanazawa Kana had another Onodera moment, hahahaha. :3

If i were Rei, I would tell Hinata if she was about to drop the bentō, that I would gladly eat it, even tho the food poisoning was imminent. :3

#ReixHinata! f t w... (ΦωΦ)

Medical fact:

Nikaidō has a chronic kidney disease. When protein is ingested, protein waste products are created. Healthy kidneys have millions of nephrons that filter this waste. It’s then removed from the body in the urine.

Unhealthy kidneys lose the ability to remove protein waste and it starts to build up in the blood. Dietary protein intake for patients with CKD is based on the stage of kidney disease, nutrition status and body size. Counseling sessions with a registered dietitian are recommended for planning and monitoring a low- or high-protein diet.

Is kinda sad he is suffering with such illness. Hope is not a death flag over him. Although annoying, he seems to be a very nice, gentle guy.

Momo and the cats are the best, as usual.

Does Rei have any good memories not involving the sisters? Jesus. Just one bad memory after the other.

Episode 5

Poor Rei had been through a lot, and now the source of his depression is revealed as his family was killed in an accident by a drunk driver. That's tough for anybody to go through and seeing Momo getting hurt reminded him of that. So he got taken in by the Koudas and became his training as a shogi player. His time with the Kouda family wasn't pleasant as Kyouko would beat him up and Ayumu was a sore loser that after losing to Rei he would shut himself out. That was a pretty dark episode there as everything about Rei's upbringing is revealed.

This episode man, this episode. It had everything.
It was visually stunning, and the story got really deep and touching. Whoever directed the episode did a great job.

Like there's nothing to say but just of SHAFTly Beautiful that was. Welcome back to top 3 Lion. One of the bets episodes so far this season with intricate somberness. I knew the back story would be dark, but didn't expect it to hit me. Rei <3 , literally surrounded by irony, assholes and tomodachis.

I think the ED fit this episode the best.

This continues to be such an excellent show. It's really too bad it doesn't seem to have as much traction as some others this season. It's not an easy watch and I think the backdrop of shogi may be turning some people off but it's one of the strongest shows I've seen in a long time.

If you do happen to be someone who is scared off by shogi or who doesn't know anything about it and feels they won't get the show because of it, don't be. I don't really know anything about it myself but it's not hurting my enjoyment at all. At least to this point, the shogi is really just a sort of canvas for everything that happens and could be replaced by any other game or sport.

Anyone who doesn't watch this because of the shogi aspect is missing out, this show is like a relationship where you know eventually they're going to break your heart but it's so enjoyable you can't give it up.
