My impressions on the first 2 episodes:

Above every negative thing you can say about the show, the character profiles are about as weak as anything out there. Think Asterisk Wars with a mystery plot. I really don't think the problems with not-so-lovable characters will go away at all. Character development would be interesting in this one, but seems very unlikely. The "what you see is what you get" cast may doom this one from the very start. Once you get past that, there are a few things that stand out. Animation has yet to be really tested, it's way too soon to say it's bad and I get the feeling it will have it's moments. The odd color palettes seem to confirm that some neat scenes may come up, like a horror scene of someone being chased. I can't say I like the art, but it may just be that we have to wait (how long though?) and see what they can do. Dialogue has that rushed tempo. If you've been paying attention to recent animes, it seems to a more common technique to use the 1st episode to get introductions over with quickly. It seemed fairly normal to me once the 2nd ep came out. As for the lines themselves, there's way too much meaningless dialogue going on. It just makes you want to skip forward or focus on the scenery while ignoring the never ending chatter. The voice acting is very good, but they just aren't giving them interesting lines. Poor VA's.

I'm getting Mayoiga feels. Everything is confusing right now but it'll come together in the end and that's what I'm hoping for. This episode was definitely better than the last though. Looking forward to the next one though

I lol'd pretty badly when Kakihara starts going on about BL doujinshi.

Anyways liking the premise so far, especially that whole future can't be changed part, sounds like they already know what the future is going to be.

Episode 2

So more of the characters get introduced with the most attention going to Aria, and then some guy is dead with Yuta having to pull the golden tooth from him that is actually a key of sorts, and cases of the supernatural are running rampant. Pulling that gold tooth looked pretty painful seeing that getting that thing implanted must have really hurt. Just more seemingly random nonsense here as I'm having a hard time figuring out what this show is trying to accomplish here, all while the animation just looks bad. That said, it looks like it's trying to do something here and it's less of a mess than the first episode, but still this show just isn't holding my interest. I'll give it one more episode to be worthwhile before I decide to move on.

Episode 2 proved just how much better a series can be when it's not saddled with an extremely annoying MC and instead actually tries to tell an interesting story with decent characters. Removing that stupid MC from being any sort of agent with the plot made me actually just excited to follow this story and see where it goes next. The world and characters are actually fairly interesting here when not overshadowed by the garbage elements from Ep 1.

Wow, kinda shocked a lot of people aren't enjoying the show so far. Based on the first 2 episodes I seem to like all the characters they are introducing and I especially feel the way episode 2 went makes me feel it setting a decent framework for a good story that allows you to try and predict what happens. Maybe my view is skewed from the relative positive reactions I saw on Japanese Twitter. That or I am just a plebeian with this sort of stuff.

Well it definitely improved in episode 2. They probably should have scrapped ep1 since it didn't serve any purpose, not even introducing characters since it was so messy.
I feel like they went a bit overboard with the number of characters involved, especially when the series is about mistery i feel like less but more fleshed out is better, hello Mayoiga?

It wouldn't be as bad to me if I didn't try to compare it to Steins;Gate. It wasn't horrible, it just wasn't what I was hoping for. But, it is only 2 episodes so far, so it also has the possibility to pick up and amaze me.

They didn't need to scrap episode 1. They needed to rewrite it and slow it down.

That was literally the big issue with episode one was everything was in 2.2-4.7x mode

I liked this episode a little more. Maybe because Tits McGee and Gatomon weren't in it as much?

I seriously thought someone was about to kill poor Myu there....

The shadyass teen detective reminds me of a character from Durarara....

That's the thing is, when you look at this series it is another work from 5pb and Nitroplus, it has a similar feeling as even with Stein's;Gate it was a slow startup for me with literally it getting right into the main point halfway through. I'd say you are right to give it more episodes as again any of the series from this concept whether it is Stein's;Gate, Robotic's;notes, Chaos;Head all took a while to get to the whole main part of the story.

Eh... I found it better, but still meh so far. Seems like it's a series that takes awhile to gain traction.

Those noses, though..... can't not notice them sometimes .

Episode 2 started with proving that the Japanese are weak-willed and easily manipulated, and doesn't step back from that. I guess at least it was less frantic than the first.
